mobsterone
Good day not his best. Loz has done 94 a few times. I'm also pretty sure I chalked up some numbers in front of everyone (didn't put one up for Loz... or did I??). It could be you that is confused... If not I'll make a mug of myself later ha ha. Nick McKinless
Loz's 99.5kg was easy. Harry's 94.5kg was easy too. Harry got 99.5kg but slipped slightly at lock-out which is why we didn't count it. No mistakes as I write everything down at the time. mobsterone
Sweet. I wish I had. H's lift WAS easy. He was on fire. Loz made a bit of a show of getting the weight up then gave it some flair at the top. What was it - his second or third attempt of any weight on the day?? The Mac
Steve Merjanian here you come!! I think, with a bit of adrenaline flowing, 100kg will be no problem. That goes for the bench too.
mobsterone
Hopefully more than 100-kilos ha ha
mobsterone
Collected it all today and just put it together etc whilst training grippers (also had lunch with my daughter). Saturday Grippers - volume Tough L/H: RB 240ip x 10 x 2 attempts - all over the place and included some VVN rather than closed. R/H: BBE x 10 x 1 ok Apparently both H and Loz did 100.5-kilos for 1 on the 2HP
The Mac
Sweet. From afar, from what I've read etc it seems that H may have even more potential than Loz. Given how much potential Loz has - that should be interesting!
Jose Jara
WOW, looks like they have one hell of grip. Harry is only 18, no? Steve, could you give us more information about these strong boys? Grip stats like thick bars, grippers....and main lifts like squats, deads?
mobsterone
H is 18. He and Loz were loaders at the British. H just this week did 225-kilos on the squat with his bigger brother doubling 290-kilos. Loz also apparently did a 340-kilo deadlift today (about 750lbs). H is also a very good deadlifter. I only beat either of them on Bench Press and at 18 H will probably pass me in a few years. Loz made it through to the Britain's Strongest Man finals injuring his bicep on the tyre flip event. He would have had the fastest time (better than Terry Holland and Mark Felix) on the farmers but for an error 3 feet from the line with 125-kilos per hand. Loz (or TT) is also pretty damn fast on the yoke with a 25m 400-kilo effort taking him a very annoyed (hence fast time) of less than 10 seconds. Forget grippers - neither are much cop but yes thick bar is done, some RT work gets thrown in and so on. But they have NEVER properly structured a grip routine yet. It is literally 'oh Nick is doing it I'll have a go'. H more so than Loz. H has done something close to a routine but only the last few weeks (thumbs were proper bleeding the last time). If they haven't peaked too early we may well have the most 100-kilo+ pinches ever in one competition. Including myself I think we will have 6 athletes exceed 100-kilos or 220lbs on December 22nd. Two, maybe three, are looking at 110-kilos (Loz apparently getting air under 110-kilos himself today - 3-4 inches). The Mac
The 100kg sector is quite sparsely populated. It would be nice to get real strength in depth in the pinch.
