At least we showed up and bent something. That is literally 75% of it. that 60d brite I kinked was very humbling. I do think if I was really fresh I would have bent it. It feels like somewhere between a 60d and G5. Yea don't worry about it. Yours was a good workout as well, you were just too tired to acknowledge this "emotionally". And isometric work never looks impressive, but super useful. Besides the strength gains, by repeatedly practicing the same part of a bend, you start noticing stuff you wouldn't normally. So you start optimizing your grip/arm position, etc. Those bright nails can be tough man. It might be even harder than the 9/32" CRS you'll get with your FBBC bag. I'm sure it's a good way to progress to the 1/4" G5. Edited September 15, 2022 by matek
matek
2022/09/16 DU bending + some short braced Yesterday I didn't have time for a proper bending session, so I skipped pull day and did bending again. Warmup with the WD2 in DU position - Orange spring, single suedes - 10x (1-1), (2-2), (3-3) - 5x (4-4) - 3x (5-5) - 1x (6-6) DU Single IMP corduras: - CRS (SS400) 7.1mm x 165mm (9/32" x 6.5") - 2x Brass HEX 7.9mm x 178mm (5/16" x 7") I only had these because FBBC Andrew accidentally sent me 5/16" bars instead of the golden hexabastard at 3/8" (btw when I told him he refunded me for these bars). Easy, fun bends. - Drill rod (SK95) 7.2mm x 178mm (0.283" x 7") DU Single leathers: - CRS (C45) HEX 7mm x 178mm (9/32" x 7") It's been a while since I bent a C45 hex. This material is still no joke. - Stainless (mild 304L) SQUARE 7mm x 178mm (9/32" x 7") I still have a few of these, but I'm not buying 304 stainless from this supplier again; it's very mild steel. - Drill rod (SK95) 7.7mm x 190mm (size "N" 0.303" x 7.5") - Drill rod (SK95) 7.6mm x 190mm (0.299" x 7.5") - Drill rod (SK95) 7.6mm x 178mm (0.299" x 7") - Drill rod (SK95) 7.5mm x 178mm (size "M" 0.295" x 7") - Drill rod (SK95) 7.4mm x 152mm (size "L" 0.291" x 6") - Drill rod (SK95) 7.3mm x 152mm (0.287" x 6") - Drill rod (SK95) 7.3mm x 165mm (0.287" x 6.5") Short rests between the drill rods (only wrapping), so good workout. Everything was one hit, except the 7.4mm bar. Same supplier but different batch than the other bars, very-very hard. All 40+ degrees. Short braced bending: - 80d bright nail (CRS) 9.52mm x 203mm (3/8" x 8") I got these for DU, now I'm just checking the characteristics of the bright 80d. - IM gold nail (CRS) 9.52mm x 212mm (3/8" x 8-3/8") I just wanted to braced bend a gold nail once, that's it. Got it from CPW with my last gripper order. Btw looks like Cannon doesn't sell IM nails anymore, but he sells ECGB beginner bending kits! If somebody reading this wants to try out bending or needs a "beginner bag", add one to your next gripper order . Both bends were sub 2". - CRS (SS400) 11.1mm x 300mm (7/16" x 11.8") - fail Maybe I was a little bit tired, but this big boy has a very hard kink. I literally saw the bar spring back as I released the hits. I bent 10mm CRS much shorter than this, but this 11.1mm CRS is a different animal. Obviously, I won't bin this bar, will try it again next time I do braced bending . Btw the tolerance is super good on this diameter, it was really 11.1mm or 7/16". Yea it's pretty good, but I can't give my max at workouts like these. I mean, even if I do it's actually not my max. Skin is another issue, but I think I found a way to minimize super dry skin and tears.

Blob 40 - 18.7kg/41.2lb Both hands: 10x1 band assisted lift (yellow band) Here is a video how I do it. Actually later reps were smoother (and held them longer) because I put more chalk on the blob. matek
2022/09/19 Push Bodyweight is 105.2kg/232lb, but I decided to "bulk" two more weeks because I'm getting stronger in everything. Pushups with pushup stands in 20kg/44lb weight vest - 5x20 No problem. - 5x18 No problem but last few reps are getting harder. - 5x14 Had to put down my knees for a few secs and regroup before the last two reps of the last set. - 5x11 Failed the very last rep, I just couldn't do it anymore. Had to rest for like 10 secs until I could do that last rep. Edited September 19, 2022 by matek

Believe me, I have no room to talk.. Last night i had two cheeseburgers, two corn on the cob... Then was going to have a smoked beef sausage thats been in the freezer, but it tasted funny so I threw it out.. If there was more burgers I would have had another one too. I can't do salads... The doctor told me to not eat more than a fistful of red meat a week... matek
2022/09/20 Thick bar Fat Gripz original (blue, 2.25") double overhand deadlift - 2x1 130kg/287lb First time getting 130kg for more than one set. - 2x1 127.5kg/281lb Questionable lockout at the second set. - 4x1 125kg/276lb No problem. Fat Gripz Extreme (orange, 2.75") double overhand deadlift - 3x1 100kg/220lb - 3x1 97.5kg/215lb The FGE felt really good today. One-handed dumbbell lift with Fat Gripz original (blue, 2.4" on the dumbbell) Both hands: - 2x1 59kg/130lb - 1x 61.2kg/135lb - 5x1 63.5kg/140lb Controlled on the way down as well. First time with this weight, can't complain. However, the dumbbell sometimes touches my wrist while lifting because it tilts forwards. Is it still a valid lift with the inch if one of the globes touches your wrist? Because if not and the dumbbell needs to be basically parallel to the floor, I'll decrease the weight and do it super strict. One-handed anvil-type vertical bar lift (2" x 1.3" x 4.9") Both hands: - 5x1 70.8kg/156lb First time with this implement, so I didn't overthink it. It's full stainless so it doesn't take chalk particularly well, but it's a fun tool. 50mm/2" at the top, 33mm/1.3" at the bottom, and 125mm/4.9" long.

matek
2022/09/23 DU bending (leather singles) I'm still pretty sore so I knew today was not the day for a cert or a PR. So instead of doing something super intense, I did volume. Warmup: - WD2 (suedes, Orange spring) in DU position: 10x (1-1), (2-2), (3-3), (4-4), 5x (5-5) - 3x CRS (SS400) 7.1mm x 165mm (9/32" x 6.5") - 1x CRS hex (SS400) 7mm x 170mm (9/32" x 6.7") Main: - 13x CRS (SS400) 8mm x 178mm (5/16" x 7") All one hit to 90-95 degrees.
