matek
2022/10/21 Thick bar I rarely get sore for more than a day in my forearms, but that forearm/wrist session a few days ago did it . matek
2022/10/22 Pull Finally, a pull workout. I went for a big overall volume instead of high intensity. Bodyweight was 107kg/236lb, getting chonky . Neutral grip weighted pullups - 5x6 41kg/90.4lb - 2x8 36kg/79.4lb - 2x10 31kg/68.3lb - 2x12 21kg/46.3lb Grip got tired at the end, I'm still feeling the thick bar workout from yesterday. Lat pulldown - 2x8 146kg/322lb I tore a callus during the first set, which got even worse in set two, so I had to stop. This was very frustrating because I wanted to do at least three more sets with this weight, then two more with a lighter weight. I mean, I could've continued the workout, but then my hand will be so messed up I can't bend next week. I should pack straps to my gym bag, so I don't have to stop if this happens again. Anyways, a good workout, just I wanted to do some more.

matek
2022/10/25 DU bending (doubles and singles) I'm very pleased with this session. I hit a wall a few months ago, and progression has been slow, but I can't complain about the past few weeks. Big double leathers - CRS (SS400) SQUARE 7mm x 178mm (~9/32" x 7") - 74 degrees, 1 hit Revenge time. First time bringing this down unbraced. (Somehow very dark on the picture, but not HRS). - Drill rod (SK95) 8.2mm x 178mm (0.323" x 7") - 59 degrees, 2 hits Revenge time, part two. First-time success with the Japanese drill rod at this diameter. - C45 CRS (S45C) 8mm x 178mm (~5/16" x 7") - 73 degrees, 2 hits Revenge time, part three. It's been several months since I tried this, but it was still kinda hard. This material is much harder to bend than drill rods or stainless (for the same diameter/length). Everything is hard about it, so it will bring me closer to my goals. Btw I have like 100 bars of this at 5/16" x 7" . You guys don't want to know how much steel I hoard . - Drill rod (SK95) 8.1mm x 178mm (0.319" x 7") - 75 degrees, 1 hit Single leathers - Drill rod (SK95) 8mm x 178mm (0.315" x 7") - 96 degrees - Drill rod (SK95) 7.9mm x 178mm (5/16" x 7") - 92 degrees - Drill rod (SK95) 7.8mm x 178mm (0.307" x 7") - 91 degrees - Drill rod (SK95) 7.7mm x 178mm (0.303" x 7") - 89 degrees - Drill rod (SK95) 7.6mm x 178mm (0.299" x 7") - 83 degrees - Drill rod (SK95) 7.5mm x 178mm (0.295" x 7") - 87 degrees - 4x CRS (SS400) 8mm x 152mm (~5/16" x 6") - 82, 76, 79, 80 degrees All one hit. I got a big blood blister during one of the drill rod bends, but fortunately no tears despite the long session . matek
2022/10/26 Wide pinch I made this monster pinch block a few days ago, so I gave it a try today. Basically, it's just a piece of square steel tube with an eyebolt. It's 125mm/4.92" wide, and the edges are rounded a lot, so it's a tough lift. Because of the rust-preventing painting, it takes chalk reasonably well for a pinch block. The implement is 1.6kg/3.5lb alone. 125mm/4.92" pinch block Both hands: - 5x1 15kg/33.1lb - 2x1 17.8kg/39.2lb - 1x1 19.1kg/42.1lb The video shows this last one with LH. I dropped it with RH, maybe because I rushed the sets (no time). Blob 40 (18.7kg/41.2lb) Both hands: - 6x1 assisted lifts with the negative phase without assistance I should have done these in the opposite order. LH negatives were noticeably faster than with RH. That's it, a short workout. Edited October 26, 2022 by matek
