If I'm being completely honest, I was always bad at this. It got better with age though.

I'm also a beginner with the WD2, but this is my opinion: Try to flex your upper body before the "bend". Your shoulders, chest, abs, forearms, and lats. Instead of trying to move your wrist, try to keep it in a neutral position. Your wrist will move anyway, but it's main part will be supporting/enduring your upper body strength. Hope this makes sense. I'm just saying this because it might help with your discomfort, not because you're doing it wrong or smg.

Yup, me too...You really gotta do stupid stuff in order to learn. These past couple years i've gotten so much smarter about my approach.... You can't go at things like a monkey screwing a football and expect great results.

I'll try that.. Pretty sure I know what you mean.

2022/08/26 Grippers

My mind was preoccupied with work, but didn't want to skip this week's gripper workout.

RH:
- 2x1 IM CoC #3 (unrated) MMS
The second wasn't easy, but fine.
- 3x1 GHP #7 (unrated) MMS
Failed one just by like 2mm. Should've rested more. Btw I wasn't sure in the past, but now I can definitely feel that my CoC#3 is harder than my GHP #7. And not just because the smoother knurling; my #3 is stiffer.
- 5x3 GoG Elite #6 (unrated) 24mm choked
Failed the very last rep.

LH:
- 5x1 IM CoC #3 (unrated) 23mm choked
Failed two.
- 5x6 CPWxGG4 (RGC 115) NS
I always had to reposition the gripper at rep 4 or 5.

2022/08/27 Pinch and some Wrist Developer

I've tried a 60mm pinching block a few times but didn't incorporate pinching into my routine so far (for various reasons).
Now I bought some weight plates and a few other things so I can properly start pinching.

60mm pinch block
Both hands same weight.
- 2x1 21.5kg/47.4lbs
- 2x1 24.1kg/53.1lbs
- 2x1 25.3kg/55.8lbs
- 2x1 26.7kg/58.9lbs
- 2x1 27.9kg/61.5lbs
- 1x1 29.2kg/64.4lbs

I had no idea what weight to use as a working set, so I just kept increasing the weight by small increments. The plates I bought are not calibrated, so I just weighed the whole apparatus after the lifts. RH was easier at the beginning, but as I progressed LH became easier.

3"x40mm hub pinch
Both hands same weight.
- 2x1 16.4kg/36.2lbs
- 3x1 17.6kg/38.8lbs
- 1x1 18.9kg/41.7lbs

This is a very weird lift. This was much harder with my LH (that last rep wasn't very clean with it).

Blob 40 (18.7kg/41.2lbs)
I bought a blob from a small Japanese business that makes kettlebells, blobs, and inch dumbbells. It already arrived a few days ago, but first time trying it. I chose the weight perfectly because I wanted a blob I cannot lift yet, but doesn't seem totally impossible.
Both hands:
- 2x1 attempts: RH both times ~10cm, LH both times nope
- 6x1 assisted lifts
I helped with my non-lifting hand (from the bottom of the blob) so I could fully lift all reps.
It was fun, I can understand why people like blobs so much.

Wrist Developer 2 (suedes)
Same in both hand positions.
Orange spring
- 10x (1-1)
- 10x (2-2)
- 10x (3-3)
- 10x (4-4)

CROM spring
- 3x Level 7 (1-2)
- 1x Level 9 (2-2)
- 5x Level 6 (1-1)

That's a very cool looking Blob!

Yo @ZRMMA you see this?!

Also, chalk the hell out of that blob. So much of blob lifting is texture based.

Thanks @stranger! Pinching (especially hublift) feels weird, but I think I will enjoy blobbing.

Thanks, I will do that next time for sure!

Thats what mine was. If you feel any hesitation about ordering it, drink a few beers first...  It worked for me.

Sounds like a plan!

I could give it to my wife as a Christmas present, and just use it. You know, I'm pretty sure she wants an inch dumbbell just too shy to say it 😕

I clicked the link and did the conversation for prices. Blobs look to be about $2/lb which isn't bad. How much are the inches?

@stranger @Blacksmith513

I agree, great price. But I think I must point out this is just a conversion. After a  google search I can say that the average month salary:inch ratio is about the same here as in the US. (edit: ok maybe a little bit cheaper here but not that much)

2022/08/29  DU bending (singles and doubles)

Singles: IMP corduras:

- CRS (SS400) HEX 7mm x 178mm (9/32" x 7")

Two months ago this took me one hit. Now I have to fight for it (within a minute, but still). I know it's not a strength issue, and I don't think it's my wrist. I think it's the technique. I must've done something different when bending in single corduras because I'm not very good at it recently. I bent a few round 9/32" bars as well, but I couldn't figure it out so far.

Doubles: corduras + leathers:

- Drill rod (Japanese SK95) 8.2mm x 190mm (0.323" x 7.5")

This was so hard it took me about an hour. I mean literally. Multiple max effort hits, long breaks, rewraps. Until ~20 degrees it was one hit, and then I progressed super slow until 41 degrees. It was more like an ISO workout and my hands wanted to fall off at the end.

Not a very good workout. Or maybe it was, just not satisfying at all.

Sometimes these things happen.  It really screws with the mind but you still showed up. That's more than most people can say.  I'm sure you'll crush them in the next few sessions.

Thanks a lot! In doubles, I just need practice and gain more "brute" strength. I'm missing something in single corduras though, something I still got ~2 months ago. I probably need a session where I bend like 30 bars of 9/32" CRS and actually take notes.

2022/08/31 Thick bar and push

Good workout, everything felt really good today.

Fat Gripz original (2.25") double overhand deadlift

- 1x 130kg/287lb

Happy with this one.

- 6x1 125kg/276lb

Failed one set above the knees.

Fat Gripz Extreme (2.75") double overhand deadlift

- 1x2 90kg/198lb

- 1x 95kg/209lb

- 3x1 97.5kg/215lb

FG->FGE is definitely better than the other way around.

Strict OHP (in elbow sleeves)

Increasing the weight/decreasing the rep count to a relatively heavy single:

- 8x 65kg/143lb

- 6x 75kg/165lb

- 4x 85kg/187lb

- 2x 95kg/209lb

- 1x 100kg/220lb

Thanks! I really pumped up myself for the 220lb single, but it wasn't that bad. Next time I do OHP I will go a little bit heavier.
