Maybe one day I can be half as good as you on DU bending (hopefully). You're welcome man. Did you raise your hands above your head or use your normal style? You're probably already closer to me than you think, but thank you. I raised my hands above my head and doing it that way definitely helped me get the bend going a lot quicker. I've been watching the Steve McGranahan dvds and I noticed that he bends that way also (as well as some of the other great benders on this board). Thanks again for the advice. Hopefully next time I'll be smart enough to get my bends on video.
David_wigren
Great job man! Sometime a fine justing of ones techniqe is all you need for great PRs. Next time you shold try a yellow or blue cut to 5" or just a 5" 1/4 from FBBC if you have them. It's not as big of step from 6" to 5" as it is from a blue to a G5 so there's a big chance you might be able to bend them! Again congrats to you! I'll be getting my beginner's bending bag from FBBC soon so I'll give the 5 1/4" stock a try. I'm hoping to get the Grade 5 by March '08 (hopefully sooner). nockowt1
12/22 Grip BB Grip Machine -105x50 negatives each hand IMTUG3 -3x5 (ring and pinky) IM Bands -Redx2x10 (both hands together) Another easy workout (not super easy though). Originally my plan was to no set close the #2.5 by Christmas. I realize that's not going to happen, but I do believe with 4 more months of training (or less) I will get it. I'll continue to increase the weight on the grip machine by 5lbs and see where that gets me.

David_wigren
Yeah square is surprisingly more difficult. It's also different depending on where you bend it. For the esiest, bend on the edge diagonally and for hardest just over any flat side. Your hands must have been pretty fried after all that work
nockowt1
Your hands must have been pretty fried after all that work Suprisingly they don't feel too bad. I'm going to wait until Saturday to work my grip again just to make sure my hands are fully recovered.

David_wigren
Great PRs man. I have got to start my reverse bending soon. Did you try anything bigger than a 6" x 1/4"?
nockowt1
Great PRs man. I have got to start my reverse bending soon. Did you try anything bigger than a 6" x 1/4"? Not yet. The next step up would be a Grade 5 bolt. The 5.5"x1/4" stock comes in the advanced bag. I have the beginner's bag. I'm pretty confident that I'll get the Grade 5 before March. David_wigren
I use a bolt cutter to cut the bars into any length I want. Really practical, so if you don't have one get one. You should be able to find a good bolt cutter for about $20-30. I don't know the prices in USA but that's what I paid for mine and it works great. David_wigren
Looks good and steady. When I revers my hands go all over the place and I have to lock my wrist into each other for any decent bends

I was planning on doing my work sets on the rolling thunder with 130lbs, but my hands had other ideas. I decided to use the credit card with the grippers to see how a whole workout like that would feel. It totally kicked my ass. It took everything I had to close the #2 like that. I was hoping that my bending would save the workout. I was wrong. My warmups didn't feel too bad, but the grade 2 was harder than it should have been. Something convinced me to try the 1/4"x7" hex because I saw that it's calibrated at 255lbs. That means it should have been just a little harder than 1/4"x7" round. That 255 must be a typo. I attacked the bend like I do any other bend, but after about 15 secs of not kinking it at all I knew it wasn't meant to be. I ended the workout with card tearing. I'm learning how to rip them lengthwise and was hoping to do a full deck today. I got the tear started and then the deck seemed to get much harder. I called it a day after that. I don't think I'll be working my grip on Thursday. My hands don't hurt, but I just couldn't generate any power today.

My pinch and hub lift are getting stronger for my left hand. I'm going to buy some more 25s to see if I can pinch 2-25s in each hand at the same time. The gripper work was harder than I was expecting. I rested about 1 min between each rep. I also tried some parallel setting and was able to do the #2 in my right hand (which is a good thing). What's funny is that do a TNS with the #2 is still easier than using a parallel set.

The CCS reps are getting easier. I think I'll work my way up to 20 singles and then try harder grippers. I'm very pleased with the hub lifting I did today. The hub on my 35s is more shallow than the hub on my 25s or 45s. I think I'll be able to do 2-45s in the near future.
