David Horne
11 Oct 06 Hand was bruised for a few days after last fridays bending. Tonight did some nail sculpture with a 8" nail sent to me by Big Steve. David
Mikael Siversson
...I think I have to drop pulling with my left hand as it prevents an old thumb injury in my left hand from healing... That promise did not last very long. Today's bending workout. Pulling with left hand. HRS 1/4'' @ 5 1/2'' - 63° PR, 65° PR, 71° PR, 67°, 66°, 65°, 52° (this steel is easier than IM's 1/4'' stock) CRS 1/4'' @ 7'' - 60° PR, 33° (stock harder than IM's 1/4'' but a little bit softer than standard FBBC G5's at the same length) All bends in a single motion and with a twin piece of cloth. Good workout; much stronger than last time I did this (23 Sep.)

FrankyBoy
10/12/2006 Got some bars from David in exchange to the bars I sent him today. Of course I couldn't resist. Warmup Some wrist twisting (~1min). 2x1x6mm nails Bending 1x247.5kg 1x257.5kg 1x260kg That last one was pretty hard. Now I feel my traps again, the Big Shiny yesterday ... FrankyBoy
Thanks David and Wes. I'll be off from that challenge til after the BBB2, though I might try one bend there. In november I'll continue and try to get the G8 ASAP.

David Horne
Yes I wanted to rest a few days. Couldn't even rest from that G8, just tried another and got this bolt to the exact same angle, damn!! Well it will be there sometime soon. I'll just do some workload for a week or so. Mikael Siversson
Well done David. Are you using a tea towel or leather?
David Horne
Mikael, Thin leather. Far better on your hands, and it lasts longer than a tea towel. David

gazza
David Nice work a g8 reverse style is a serious bend hell a g8 any style is a serious bend. Your on your way to the RED you need to start hitting those 280k,290k and 300k challenge bars and some fbbc squires.
antarath
DavidNice work a g8 reverse style is a serious bend hell a g8 any style is a serious bend. Your on your way to the RED you need to start hitting those 280k,290k and 300k challenge bars and some fbbc squires. That's what disappoints me. I can bend grade 8ths and FBBC squares by the dozen, but I can barely kink the red nail. But ok, the grade 8 and the fbbc square is close to the red for some people :-\ Edited October 22, 2006 by Mats Erik
David Horne
Gazza, As you said I'm working beyond the G8 now. 24 Oct 06 Bent; Bent a 5.75" x 8mm CRS bar (calibrated at 280k) to 45 degrees. Bent a 5.5" x 8mm CRS bar (calibrated at 290k) to 50 degrees. then a Grade 8 bolt x 6" to 60 degrees. I also finished all these bars in the crushdown, which really pleased me as I am scared of my shoulder. My training is paying off, especially the new training tool I've developed. All for now, David
FrankyBoy
Congrats David on the G8 bends.
Bob Lipinski
Jeff Flynn, who posts as AP, has done a red to well past 45 degrees before in reverse style, and I think has made a decent kink in the FBBC 5/16.
David Horne
Bob, That's an awesome bend by Jeff. I hope to aim for this in the next few months. David
