ewokhugo
I might have closed a +190 lbs gripper. But the witness and I weren't totally sure so I won't count it. u are probably talking about one bbse u close some years ago , i think u said the gripper was around 3.8. Teemu I
I just bought a beef builder grip machine from a friend for less then 50$! I think I will try to train exclusively with that one for a while, and see how that transfers to grippers. Atleast I expect some gains for the sweep. I do think so that your sweep will get stronger. Have you thought about doing some heavy negs on it? Seems so far to be helping me as I'm doing negs on both SW and grippers, I'm doing them all the way throughout the ROM. I might do some negs, but that will have to wait, atleast a couple of months (or not)

Martin_Arildsson
Good luck with the BBSE Thanks! 2008-08-28 Squat: 120 kg x 3/3 170 kg x 3/3/3/3/3/3 120 kg x 6 Grippers L/R: CoC #1 3/3 CoC #1 3/3 CoC #2 3/3 CoC #3 1/1 CoC #3 (TNS) 1/1 CoC #3 1/1 CoC #3.5 1/1 BBSE 0 (2mm) / 0 (0.1mm) BBSE 0 (5mm) / 0 (0.2mm) Didn't get any better, just worse! Anyways, I did 2 more attempts on the BBSE, and after that two crappy negatives with a #4. I did some thickbar (50mm) deadlifts too. All sets were at 130 kg, 6/3/3/3/4/5 reps or something like that. I supersetted the DLs with CG-bench at 100 kg, mostly 3 reps/set.

Martin_Arildsson
2008-09-04 Benchpress: 100 kg x 5/3 120 kg x 3 135 kg x 1 150 kg x 3 145 kg x 3 140 kg x 3/3 Grippers: Nothing special to report this time, closed my harder 3.5 with both hands. I had some attempts on a pretty hard BBSE, all attempts mostly turned into negatives. 1HDL: Left: 110 kg x 1, 120 kg x1 Right: 110 kg x 1, 120 kg x 1 Deadlift: 120 kg x 3 150 kg x 3 190 kg x 1 220 kg x 1 250 kg x 1 260 kg x 0/1 250 kg x 1 200 kg x 3/3 I failed on the first 260k attempt because I were focusing to much on technique
Martin_Arildsson
I received an Vulcan Gripper yesterday, haven't tried it much. But what I can say right now, is that it is very well built, maybe a little too hard for the absolute beginner. But on the other way, I wonder if anyone will ever be able to close it on the hardest setting? It reminds more of a regular gripper then the ISG or others do. If my hands aren't totally wasted tonight I'll see what damage I can do to it!
