Last night's bending:

I decided to experiment with the different bending styles.

7 6x3/16 crs

6 5x3/16 crs

2 7x1/4 crs

I had difficulty with my pinkies running into each other in double underhand (Shrug, Big Steve, Dave). I couldn't bend anything in the hands high double overhand style (Milfield, Holle). I was fairly comfortable in the waist level double overhand (Brookfield). And of course, had my best bends in the over/under style. I have yet to draw any conclusions. I am intrigued by the increased strain on my wrists felt in the double overhand styles and feel that I lack the shoulder power and pinky strength to be effective in the double underhand style. I'll continue to experiment with the various styles. And we'll just have to see what happens.

All bent using brookfield's double overhand at the waist method. Though my hands did drift to mid chest as the bend progressed.

My hands were extremely sore today...even after a good night in the mittens. I took a couple attempts at the 50 Blob, then I hit the levering and shot rotations hard. I'll continue to lever and do shot rotations throughout day. I think these two exercises really help my recovery, and I'll be darned if I understand why.

I took my 40lb Blob and a bunch of nails out to the Oval today. Crusade is doing a campus outreach and I thought I might draw a crowd with bending and whatnot. Which I did. Prolly had about 30 or 40 people standing around for most of the 3 hours I was out there.

I lifted the 40 regular and by the face more times than I can remember. Cleaned it by the face once, and regular several times. Even nearly did an overhand Blob toss with it.

I never really got in a groove bending. I'd do a bend..talk to the assembled crowd...do another bend...lift the blob...talk...etc. I got tired of talking and hungry before I hit the wall strengthwise. A lesson learned there. All in all, a great way to spend an afternoon.

Weeeeeellllllll........

Had a pretty big adventure the past couple weeks. Moving/death in family/funeral in Florida/massive water problem in basement of new house/living at in-laws. I've kept up with my training as best I could. mostly grippes and pony clamp work, but I've snuck some blockweight work in. Today was the first day bending since the last entry. If the Good Lord's willing I should get some consistency going now.

Tried card tearing for the first time today. Bought a few decks at a dollar store and had at it. Tore a couple partial decks...25 cards, 35 cards, 44 cards then 1 full deck. All in all, good fun! Now I've just got to figure out how to incorporate this new feat into my training!?
