I know.. they have to mention it e v e r y   t i m e. Not like it will change suddenly. 😂

There are so many jokes I want to make right now…

Glad the thumb is getting better. I can certainly feel it after using my blobtop.

My upper chest is still pretty sore so I didn't do DU in doubles; no point. Only single leathers this week.
one reverse -> one DU

DU - single leathers
- CRS 21/64" x 7" - 1 hit | 42 degrees
- CRS 21/64" x 6.6" - 1 hit | 52 degrees
- 3x C45 HEX 7mm x 7" - each 1 hit | 50, 44, 55 degrees
- CRS 5/16" x 5" - 1 hit | 52 degrees

Reverse - single leathers
- Grade 8 bolt (490lb batch) 1/4" x 6" - 2 hits | 55 degrees
- 3x CRS 5/16" x 7" - each 2 hits | 65, 63, 60 degrees

Very off-center bends, meh. But I'm confident I can reverse a 5/16" x 7" normal CRS on any day.
- Stainless (304) HEX 7mm x 7" - 1 hit | 58 degrees
- 12.9 bolt 6mm x 6" - 1 hit | 50 degrees

I’m liking the reverse-do/du-reverse myself.

Allows the wrists to rest a little bit. Have you ever tried levering? I bet you’d be great.

Yeah I like it a lot. Attack the radial side with reverse, then the ulnar with DU.

No, but I think I'll buy a sledgehammer eventually.

You’ll love it. I’m really liking the 2h levering. It works the core a lot more I feel like.

I love how much focus it requires.

I haven't worked up to one good wide grip pullup without band assistance, so your weighted pullups always impress me.  Awesome work!

Thanks, Doug!
Band assistance is a great way to build up power. If the goal is pullups, I think it's way better than lat pulldowns.
I do heavy weighted pullups in a neutral hand position. My shoulders tend to hurt if I go heavy with regular wide-grip pullups. Also, I found it to be a great supplementary exercise to reverse bending, which is a big plus for me now.

Sounds awesome!  When I've done them, it's typically been wide grip pullups with the bands or the occasional ugly chinup with like a 2" rope or 3" balls.  For some unknown reason I haven't bothered with the neutral hand grips.  🤔

Give it a try someday!
For most people, I think it will be easier than regular pullups but not quite as easy as chinups.

Well...today is my Pull, Bize, and Trize Day.  Maybe I'll give these a go at the end.

Friday evening pushup stoicism

20kg/44lb weighted pushups with pushup stands
- 14x17
The last two reps of the 14th set were really hard and slow, so decreasing the rep count.
- 4x14
- 1x12
- 1x11

With these last two sets, I just couldn't push it further and fell on my chest.

Adjustable chest crush armbar at max resistance
- 5x14

Grippers

First gripper workout in 3 weeks. It didn't make sense to just continue the routine I did before the thumb injury, so I just did what I felt like doing.
RH
- 3x1 CoC #3 unrated (harder one), MMS
- 3x1 Standard adjustable Tungsten set to RGC 175, 22mm choked
- 1x20 IG90 Level 4, standard spread, MMS

LH
- 2x1 Standard Iron RGC 134, 1.5" GHP block set
- 3x1 Standard Iron RGC 134, MMS
- 1x18 IG90 Level 4, standard spread, MMS

I think I can continue my routine as usual from next week.

Bending

In general, one reverse/WD2 -> one DU

Reverse (single leathers)/Wrist Developer 2 CROM spring (single suedes)
Left front only
- 1x2 WD2 Level 13 (3-4)
- 1x1 WD2 Level 13 (3-4)
- 1x5 WD2 Level 12 (3-3)
- Stainless (304) 5/16" x 6" - 48 degrees
- Grade 8 bolt 1/4" x 6" (490lb batch) - 45 degrees
- 2x Stainless (304) HEX 7mm x 7" - 42, 50 degrees
- DR (SK95) 9/32" x 7" - 47 degrees
- 35CrMo(A) 7mm x 6.7" - 59 degrees
- 35CrMo(A) 7mm x 7" - 61 degrees

Some bends took more hits than usual after the WD2.

Double underhand (single leathers)
- 2x3 ISO hits on a 7/16" x 7" CRS
Very tiring. I should've done ISOs at the end.
- DR (O-1) 5/16" x 7" (ECGB) - 60 degrees
- 35CrMo(A) 5/16" x 8" - 45 degrees
- C45 HEX 7mm x 6.5" - 46 degrees
- 3x C45 HEX 7mm x 6.7" - 54, 52, 53 degrees
- Stainless (304) bolt 5/16" x 5.5" - 66 degrees
- Stainless (304) bolt 5/16" x 6" - 53 degrees

Some blood blisters, and the skin on my left thumb is meh but wrists are ok, so very good, long workout.
Now I will proceed to eat copious amounts of deer heart and rice.

Blobs

RH/LH
- 3x1 KWN40 lifts
- 6x1 KWN50 (50.5lb/22.9kg) assisted lifts

I also tried to lift it unassisted with RH:
- 3 above the knee, but fail there
- 2 relatively good lifts
: need a pause at the top, but otherwise, nice lifts. I'm happy with these for now. The second lift is in the video. Edit: sent the video for cert, why not. Based on other people's videos, this should be fine. If not, I'll just redo it next week.
I didn't even try it with LH because my thumb webbing is pretty bruised from yesterday's volume reverse bending.

The joint is fine. It's the kind of pain that can be ignored safely (I think 😅). It just feels like a hammer hit it hard or smg

Nice lift, Matek.  My only suggestions so people can better see the lockout are (a) being a little farther away from the camera so your whole body is in the frame and (b) ideally having the brief pause at the top that you mentioned in your post.

If you end up doing another video, I've also seen people weigh their implement as part of the documentation.  I know it's not required by the rules, but in my opinion it can give context/credence to a feat.  Just my two cents.

Solid advice, thank you Doug!
The attempt was accepted, but I will do more videos anyways, and will try to do it stricter!💪
Yea I didn't weigh it because it was not required (actually I was surprised by this, but it kinda makes sense given that the kanji on the bottom would be hard to replicate).

That was a real nice lift. I didn't notice the video earlier. I cant wait to get my Blobtop back from Jedd. Unfortunately they didn't have time do the post comp comp with it. Always next time.  Would have been the first comp ever with the Blobtop and i'd have loved for all those guys to get their hands on it.

Yeah the blobtop is cool! I want to buy the KWN55 but I already spent too much on other hobbies this month. So next month it is 😅

Where do you get your KWN weights?  I did some searching a month or so ago but couldn't find a link.

P.S.  @Jedd Johnson just posted a video of him lifting a KWN60 after Nationals, so you can probably guess why I'm searching for a link again.  😁

These are made by a small metal-casting company (伊藤鉉鋳工所 / Itou-gen Chuukoujo) that makes kettlebells, blobs, and inch dumbbells in different sizes. I live in Japan, and I can just order them at Amazon. Unfortunately, they only sell domestically. Once somebody asked me to help him buy one, but the shipping fee would have been too expensive. Not sure how much Zach/Touru paid for it, but the shipping is way over the price of the blob.

Anyways, since you asked for the link, here it is.
