Is your Axle limited by your dl strength? It just ocured to me that your Axle and your dl seem fairly close...

Anyhow, I'm sure this won't be a longterm problem for you.

Good eye, Honk. That's definitely the case.

At Nationals, I cleared the ground with 280lbs on the axle, but my back stopped moving. My hands were fine. lol

I'm trying to get my back strength up to exceed my axle now.

In the future, I'll strengthen it further so I can pull quickly to reduce the effort to my hands.

That's some ridiculous fatbar strength Yori.

You are driven and know how to train. You should get a 300# pull within 2 month, maybe 3 if you have T-Rex arms.

Thank you sir!

Eric challenged me the other day to pull 300 before my birthday (8/3).

And even though I missed 275 last time, I'm convinced I can get it.

So I'm here with my 135# gripper and it's 1/16" from closed, both hands.

If I wasn't even, maybe I should be closing my 141 #3 right handed.

EDIT: closed it lefty. (MMS)

Wow bud, I wonder what your axle will end up being once your regular deadlift gets stronger.

Oh and late congratulations on nationals, that 2xBW DO Axle is one of the most impressive feats i've ever seen(heard, lol)!

Thanks much! I'll shoot for even higher.

I have a video of that lift, I should post it soon.

Bench

115x3

130x3

150x9x2 (CM=195)

Pull up

3x10

I was shooting for 12 reps, but lost my groove. Tried again but the same thing happened, and I was tired.

Gotta iron out my technique and my bench itself, because I felt robbed of a few reps.

Press

75x5

85x3

95x6 (CM=114)

65x10

Curl

65x5x2

Felt weak. Haven't been eating enough lately and am stuck at 133 lbs.

Breath drive and press groove were lost today.

Grippers were okay though. Closed #2.5 with a block set both hands today.

Countdown to 300. Hope for the Unbig rest upon your shoulders, Yori.

I'm trying 300 tomorrow, Eric.

Getting my tork and belt, and visiting a metroflex to lift some weight.

I assumed I'd be benching 200 a lot later, and deadlifting 300 a lot sooner. Oh well.

Strategy - pull harder than you possibly can until you stand up.

Been sorta slacking. But I'll call it a deload and deadlift some heavy weight soon.

Bench

125x5

140x3

155x11 (CM=212)

Pull up

2x15

My bench gained near 20lbs today. The secret? I made some height adjustments to the bench's legs.

Always had the problem with heavier weights having to get out of my form just to unrack, but no more.

Znosko,

1) Are you available for the shopping trip this weekend?

2) You better pull three bills by your birthday.

Hey Mike.

1. Yes I can, if you're free Sunday. I've got the whole day off. Since you're hurt now, would it be better to wait though?

2. The pressure's on. Here is an unreleased post of my progress measured a few days ago.

Deadlift

135x2

225x2

245x1

265x1

285x1 (PR. Double overhand, no belt no tork. Felt blacked out after this one.)

305xF (6" off ground)

305xF (Used belt and nose tork, but only 2" lift.)

Grippers

-Done before DL singles to psyche up. Felt real strong, and found that grippers prep me very well for pulling.

#2 CCSx3 reps BH

#2.5 20mmS BH

Axle

200

220

250-easy, but back was slow.

270-knee height, back pulled slow and it rolled out of my hands.

Log press

Did a 115lbs log easily after being told it was 55lbs. Cool.

Mirin' that deadlift Yori, looking strong! Just curious though, what is "nose york"?

Nice on the log press too! was that your first time using a log? how does it feel?

Nose tork is a packaged inhalant that smells like strong cat piss.

It's used medically to wake up people who are passed out, and by power lifters to psyche themselves up.

It doesn't make you superhuman, but it will give you a great psyche up.

I've noticed that in grip, it helps with setting grippers and axle. Pinch and closing grippers, not so much.

Thanks for the mirination. Appreciate it.

This was my second time every touching a log. The first time was the day before a comp so I didn't try anything though.

What's your gripper max these days? I noticed your closing a 2.5 there ;).

Awesome.

Edit: I looked back some, you closed a 141 #3 lefty!?

Double Edit: I think you meant you got the 135# gripper shut lefty. Either way, you're hovering around that BW close! (Or got it if you were 133).

i second you about the nose tork and pinch. When i'm amped up i do poorly at the pinch... when i'm calm and deliberate i am much stronger, kind of like setting up for a long putt on the green.. now axle and grippers..? i'm better when someone pisses me off!

My gripper max right now is a 123# 2.5 for a few singles both hands, and for MMS I've closed that 135# HG300 lefty.

I have nothing in between with normal handles... smooth handles, 1"handles, 5/8 handles in between though.

I've closed a gripper at 110% my BW at AZGC6, also did 147% 2HP there.

This is nowhere near as impressive as your 158# @66k though, so I'm shooting for consistent bodyweight block sets at current BW.
