MattM
With your new 5/3/1 training, what BW/weight lifted ratios are you looking to hit? Or are you just trying to increase strength overall?
Electron
With your new 5/3/1 training, what BW/weight lifted ratios are you looking to hit? Or are you just trying to increase strength overall? I'm shooting for some easier goals by the end of this year. 100# strict curl 120# press 200# bench and squat 300# deadlift As for bodyweight, I'd like top finish this year weighing around 145-150. To ease back into lifting, I'm starting with some very light training maxes. I hope to meet and exceed all of these goals.
Anthony C.
Good to see you back on the move up, yori. The only thing i would have done differently is taken twoweeks off any sort of exercise before beginning again, just to let the body heal. Will be following along to see how you do, good luck man! Thanks man. I was a bit rushed, I admit. Nationals is just 10 weeks out, and I have a few things planned for it. Hope to see you crushing the blob soon. MattM
Good luck with your goals! I'm sure you'll hit or surpass them all barring injury based on your previous #s. I like seeing good lb for lb lifters and am trying to be a bit more social here on GB so pardon the Q&A!
Electron
Are you attending NATS this year? You're right, I got a half 75 fatman and that thing has only been hopped twice.
Anthony C.
Are you attending NATS this year? You're right, I got a half 75 fatman and that thing has only been hopped twice. Me? No sir. I'm fairly seasoned in the iron game but still a grip noob. Hopefully I'll qualify next year as I'd love to compete. I do plan on going to chez's comp in the summer though

Mephistopholes
What's the CM stand for?
Electron
Hey Bobby, haven't seen you around lately! CM stands for calculated/current 1RM. I use a standard formula to derive this number.

Electron
Thanks Eric. The plates were pinched together and felt very different from a regular plate curl. I'm going to have to stay training for a 35 curl and hub soon.

dlewis8589
Keep it up brotha, your doing great! That is a nasty plate curl too, well done! One of my goals is to plate wrist curl a 25lb plate
Electron
Just tried plate wrist curling my 25s and it feels pretty hard. Since plate curls are isometric and wrist curls are dynamic, not sure how much they translate. I think I'll be able to get a good rep by the time I can plate curl the same plate 10 reps. dlewis8589
I feel like they'd probably have decent carryover. I love plate wrist curls, its like a one in all move for the lower arm. It works your pinch, wrist and forearms very well. Its the only assistance exercise I do for grippers.
