10/3: W6D6, Chin ups

BW ladder: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (no rest)

+60lbs: 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 (1 min rest between sets)

10/3: AW Practice

@Home

Mike and Garrett came over. I did some pull ups prior to warm up.

Garrett still stronger off the bat but I can take him after the initial few matches.

Got into straps, did a few hypotheticals.

Did some pinch work. Mike lifted my 3/4Blob, pausing it in a high pull and cleaning it left.

I got it down to 7# lefty, 9# righty. (Previous best was 18#)

40# PolyHex down to 14#s.

10/13: AW Practice

@Jarrod's

Practiced with Ian, Garrett, Mike, Jarrod, and another man.

Had a supermatch with Garrett. Various starting calls, won Left 3-2 and lost Right 2-3.

Practiced toprolling and understand the mechanics better now.

Plate curled 25. Wasn't able to wrist curl it, but probably can do so fresh.

Closed Jarrod's hard #2 from block set width. Tried levering hammers but 8# to face proved too much.

Also, a random big dude walked in to practice for a minute. Not an arm wrestler, so I could beat him. Strong nontheless.

10/17: AW Practice

Second time this week.

I think I'm getting better technique. Worked on sliding forward on the mat, elbow is skinned.

Did some grip too.

Hub: R-42.5#, L-44#.

Gripper coin hold: R-14s, 17s, L-8s

10/20: GRIPPERS

Did sets of ~20 with HG200 (90#) in block set.

R- 18, 20, 17, 15

L- 20, 18, 17, 15

GNC200 (121#)

Maybe closed with right, MMS. Did not hear handle click, so not sure.

Left got it to 1/8".

GNC200 (Unrated, but easier)

MMS, both hands

Almost block set it with right. 1/8" away.

5 second coin hold with right.

IM #2.5 (123#)

Pretty close. 1/4" both hands.

IM #2 (105#)

Few Block set reps, each hand.

New gripper PRs and my set is doing great.

10/22: GRIPPERS

90% healed from last session.

Did heavy singles first.

Block set:

GNC200(Unrated) Right, 3 singles out of 5 attempts.

Left got to 1/8".

MMS:

GNC200(121) R-1/16", L-1/8".

Block set:

IM#2(105) R- 2 reps, L- 2 easy reps.

HG200(90) R- 10,10, 10, L- 10, 10, 10 (Left felt stronger at this point.)

10/24: AW Practice and Grip

Grip:

Warmed up by closing Mike's IM#2. Feels just a tad harder than mine. 107?

Closed my GNC200(unrated) right handed in a block set. Left missed by 1/16".

BLOCK SET GNC200(121) Right handed! BIG PR.

Left missed by 1/16".

IM#2.5(123) Block set, missed by a mere 1/32". As Mike said, if I crapped my pants, I would've had it.

This is my goal gripper, I'll close it within 2 weeks.

Block set my #2(105) a few reps either hand.

Did a hub contest with Garrett and Mike, and set a left hand PR.

R-42.5#, L-47.5#

Immediate goal on this lift is 50# on both hands.

AW:

Worked positions and sliding, Garrett giving me some trouble.

Wasn't feeling great this practice but some things clicked in my mind about form and pulling correctly.

10/27: W7D1, RT Max

Warm up:

45, 55, 65, 75, 85

Max attempts:

95 (Max 6/16)

100 (Max 8/5)

102.5

107.5 (RH air, got LH easy)

108.75 (LH PR! Actual weight-111.5)

110 (LH air)

A big jump in both hands. Still weak, but getting where I want to be.

Immediate goal now is 120/hand, and I'd like to get 135 by 1/11.

I have a plan.

GRIP 10/30, 11/2, 11/3

10/30-Plate pinch and Hub

Thin 35s- slick on the outside. Need to season.

R-56lbs, L-57lbs (out of 70)

Thick 35s- paint feels good and textured, and width feels great in LH.

R-51lbs, L-59lbs lifted out of 70.

35 Hub- Weirdly shaped... tapers a bit. Texture is a bit lacking.

R-30lbs, L-30lbs lifted out of 35.

Note: Pinching this session was good. Being able to lift 50+lbs of a pair of 35s means that I will be able to pinch virtually any pair of 25s that I come across.

11/2-Grippers

Warmed up, then attempted Block set reps on my #2 (105).

R-5 reps, L-2 reps.

11/3-Plate Pinch and Hub

Tried pinching 10s. The edges hurt a bit.

Warmed up using 3x10s and 4x10s. Added the loading pin because the plates were slipping a little.

4x10+pin- 43lbs. Got air with both hands. Didn't pull high at all because of flooring.

5x10+pin- 53lbs. LH got air. RH didn't.

IM Hub- Warmed up at 30lbs and worked up to 40. Did a few holds, playing around.

Grippers- Block set #2(105). Block set GNC200(unrated) RH. LH got close.

11/5: Pinch

Saw Darrin Shallman pull a Blob50 so had to do some (unplanned) work.

4x10- easy LH. The plates slipped RH. Did not want to apply more chalk between plates, it's tedious. Stuck a pin in there instead.

4x10+Pin- easy lift both hands.

4x10+5+Pin- Slopes too much. Couldn't lift.

2HP with plates: Got up to 128# easily.

Tried 138#, got air when I committed to the lift.

The rotational forces that Chris Rice talks about frequently doesn't work too well for me yet. I feel as it may cause a breakthrough if I learn how to do this.

VBar- 153# with both hands.

Slapped more weight on to make it 173. I think I got air, photo below.

post-20939-0-24007000-1383786587_thumb.p

PR: Cleaned 80# dumbbell.

Went for a bent press but didn't work.

11/8: AW and Grip

Videoed attempts at Mike's HG300, felt about 115#s.

Cut out the audio because my war cry is too ridiculous.

New PR for #2 coin hold. 31 seconds.

By the end of my grip workout, everyone had burnt up on the table. Took both Ian and Garrett down easily at this point.

This actually felt pretty productive because I was able to use more technique and thought, rather than strength, to win.

11/11: Grippers and Pinch

Grippers

HG200x10xBH

#2(105) Closed block set

GNC200(UNR) block set RH, MMS LH

GNC200(121) block set on video

#2.5(123) Block set failed.

Pinch

Got Rustoleum Aircraft Remover and worked on stripping the paint off a few plates over the last days.

Thin 35s and my PolyHex40 got resurfaced.

Thin 35s

R-60lbs, L-62lbs (out of 70)

PolyHex40

R-33lbs, L-34lbs (out of 40)

3/4 Blob (Half of 75)

R-33lbs, L-34lbs (out of 37)

Can almost get air on this!

11/12: W7D3, Clean and Press max

Axle Clean

Warmed up on bar (15lbs), 85x3

Attempts

96x1

116x1

126x1

136x1 (Matched previous max)

141xF

Press

Attempts

85x1

95x1

105x1 (PR!)

110xF

Note: I would really like to get 150 on the axle clean and 135 on the press.

Need to practice cleans a lot more. The movement felt foreign.

As for press, thinking about doing volume often, which will probably increase my max by quite a bit.

11/17: Axle Max

Grip

HG200 volume. Did 5 sets of 20 block set, each hand.

Axle

Warm up

110x6, 155x2

Attempts

195x1

215x1

215x1 (attempted twice by mistake)

226x1

236x1 PR!

241xF (Pulled to hip height, couldn't lock out)

Just about a 10# PR here, and almost got 241.

If I get more weights (241 is every single plate I have) and train my regular deadlifts, I WILL GET 250.

Goal by 12/1 is to do 45 reps on BW axle. Gotta train up.

I vote that you leave in the war cry.

Haha I think I deleted the original audio but I'll reserve it for a new PR.
