Electron
Tomorrow is the comp. Been losing too much weight, but I don't think it'll affect my lifts. On the plus side, I can fill up with food for the whole day.
Electron
Yeah I'm back. Been deloading since the comp, but also got my once-a-year cold just this week. The comp was great, hit some good numbers all around. Although I had wished to hit one handed elite, my lifts lacked 5lbs worth of effort to qualify. Needed total: 352 Gripper: 125 1H axle: 144 1H Euro: 78 My total: 347 This sucks a bit but I'll be able to close any 130 gripper very soon. My journey in the 59k is over and I'm moving on, but if I ever find myself at this weight again, I'll make sure to close a stout gripper in comp to get the elite status. Been away from weights for the most part, but I've started a gymnastics routine. I'll keep squatting and/or deadlifting for my lower body. My upper body has goals of planche, hand stand, front lever, 90°V sit, full standing ab wheel, iron cross, and easier one arm chin ups, which I can only do on good days right now. honk
So what's the difference between Jedd's and your pinch technique?
Electron
I use the same technique as Eric. -hands together and vertical -high tension in thumb webbing -wider width with more thumb involvement -high thumb placement Jedd's technique: -hands 2" apart and at 45° angles -lower tension in webbing -narrow width with more finger and wrist involvement -lower thumb placement I've practiced more with the Eric technique and it's suited me well. Both styles use bent elbows. I used to have my own technique with straight arms and form similar to Eric's. I may start experimenting with this again too. Just trying to switch things up and gain a few pounds on pinch.

Electron
While it seems like I fell off the face of this planet, I've still been training 2-3 times a week. The notation for my calisthenics was getting annoying so i have a bunch of unlogged training sessions. Lately, I've been working on the handstand, front lever, and planche. My hand stands average 5-10s now, but I feel my reliance on strength is holding back my skill progression. My front lever is almost there. I'm isolating myself in a front lever like position, but my hips are you'll bent to call it that. I'm working on getting this perfect. Planche is still a ways off. Hopefully I'll be doing a straddle by end of 2015. Currently following a gripper peaking program that Tommy gave me. I'm attempting my 3 in a few days. Also, got a brand new camera. Nikon L830. Let's see how well it does gripper vids.
Electron
Making some FL progress. Tried peaking and attempting a #3 close, nothing phenomenal but my gripper strength is back where it used to be. I'm deloading and peaking once more and hoping to deep set it before the end of the year. Just got a Nikon L830 and this thing rocks for taking gripper vids. I'll try to upload my best attempt tomorrow. It was about 1/4" off.
Electron
Totally forgot to upload the damn video. Props to my brother Anthony C for closing his #3! Just to get that MM0 now. I'm going through a second peaking cycle and my set has noticeably improved. Hope to have mine closed in 4 days.

Electron
Boom. Probably closed my #3 gripper for the first time: Felt closed here, but the video loses focus right where it matters: I'm only 50% sure that I touched the handles, and if it did, they touched as light as they possibly could. I'm not celebrating yet with cupcakes, but scotch is doing me well tonight. Drambuie 15yr is taking good care of me. Now, to get a better close on video so I can MM0!

Jared Goguen
The first one looked pretty close to me, and watching in HD slow-mo I think there was a brief touch. Also major internet points for the cat shirt.
