jvance
Big time training man, how high were you pulling on the bands? to full tension? I'm thinking you're numbers are gonna be pretty damn good man. I probably won't be able to make the ft worth leg due to our move but I think this year will be an epic battle for King Kong supremacy. Keep up the good work Edited September 17, 2014 by jvance

I'm thinking you're numbers are gonna be pretty damn good man. I probably won't be able to make the ft worth leg due to our move but I think this year will be an epic battle for King Kong supremacy. Keep up the good work What I'm doing is implementing ideas from Westside Barbell's use of band training. It's depending on which bands I'm using, but nothing is a full extension on the lifts. The reason I'm not going full extension is because the bands are actually overpowering me when I make a lift and the weights just want to drop back down so I have to squeeze harder. As far as how high I pulled was maybe 50-75% of full extension before the bands started kicking my butt.

John McCarter
Didn't spend much time on the lifts as I wanted to put more focus on the Hub because of the rule change that was announced. Was busy with my woman yesterday, I didn't really exchange words with people, just found out a couple hours ago about the storm that was forming; I watched the video about the proper form to use; just had to spend more time and energy on that than anything else. I'm hoping that there's nothing wrong with my form the time the contest gets here. Just going to have to review the video more. 9/23/2014 King Kong Training) Euro Pinch: 6x5 seconds - 66.7 # with 30 # Band Tension Thick Bar: 6x5 seconds - 152 # with 50 # band tension Hub: 9x5 seconds - 92.2 # with 50 # band tension Anvil Trainer: 6x5 seconds - 152 # with 50 # band tension TTK: 3x10 seconds - 66.2 # Pony Clamp: 4x10 seconds - I-M/R-P Lever: 5x10 seconds - 12 #, Front/Reverse Extensors: 4x10 seconds - Red/Red/Blue Bands combined

John McCarter
Had the strangest training night ever and not even going to attempt to use logic to reason with what happened tonight! The numbers I produced, I have no words for what was going on. Camera needed to be charged so I didn't capture anything on video but this is just a night where even I have to say WHAT THE ****. I seriously have no idea what I was doing that brought about the numbers. Only worked singles. 9/26/2014 King Kong Training) Pistol Squat: 3x4 - 25.8 lbs plus b.w. Euro Pinch: 11.6 lbs Thick Bar: 29.5 lbs Hub: 32.4 lbs Anvil Trainer: 52.8 lbs Again, really have no clue what's going on and why I'm able to get so much more in just one weeks time.

The strange thing was I was jokingly thinking I could do it, but like I said above, I have no clue what's going on to lead to these numbers. I seriously was having a total mindf*** last night.
Anthony C.
Yeah john! This is amazing. BUT...not surprising to me. The numbers that you put up with the TTK are mind boggling to anyone with some experience using one. The fact that you're doing reps with 50, 60, 70 lbs on that thing one handed just go to show that your thumb strength is pretty much world class. I figured it would translate very quickly to the other pinch lifts. Now as for 100+ on hub, I cannot possibly imagine what that weight feels like in the hand. A few points of interest here. -make sure you lock out the weight completely for the contest day. -The fact that you can pull 120+ on this thing and people are like, congratulations instead of "you're cheating!" Really goes to show that your reputation and character are just as elite as your strength. You're a modest gentleman (no homo) and it's always awesome when someone who deserves recognition gets it. Congrats man and stay healthy till the 26th!
