Hi guys,

I can see you move a lot of weight..!Congrats to all of you.

I would like to ask if there is any room for me in this challenge and if I could "compete" using reverse grip. :)

Reverse grip benching is cool i use it for assistance from time to time. Anthony Clark used to do a lot of reverse benching.

Absolutely! What is your current max on the bench? Reverse grip, suicide grip, wide grip, narrow grip, we've got one of everything in this contest I think. HAHAHAHAHA

I pressed 170kilos - 375 pounds , close grip , a couple of months ago.....

As soon as I find a spotter I will try my reverse grip which is my favorite.

That's impressive! Why don't you make your main goal 400 close grip?

Sounds like a good goal. post up your benching workouts here then!

I started off with a max of 320. 330 now. The original goal was 350 by the end of August (using a 1 rep max calculator my 264x10 puts me right there now) and i am after 375 by the end of the year.

I've watched some of your videos my friend and I believe that you have the strength to bench 375 for reps by the end of the year....... ;)

Good luck with your training.

That kills me. My max is 310, and don't think I can even do 235 for 10. My volume must stink, I guess. I'm okay with heavy maxes but I'm terrible when it comes to repping.

Exactly the oposite bro. I could do 225X10 two months ago, but my max was stuck at 275. Didn't compute at all.

Yeah, everyone is different. The old joke about the 20 rep squats program is that they can do 300x20 but their max is 320! For me, on all exercises, one rep max calculators have always been pretty accurate.

Thursday Week 8 Sorin Bench Plan: Singles Day

Bench:

BarX15

135X5

185X1

225X1

255X1

330X1 3" partial - waited 45 seconds and...

290X1 PR (this was definitely my max today. 290.1 would not have gone up :laugh )

255X3 (technical problem. Forgot to put collars on and by end of 3rd rep the weight on the right side had slid about 3" out) Honestly, I was really taxed by the 290. I'm not sure if #4 would have gone up anyway.

Went light on all the assistance exercises: Inclines, rows, hammer curls 4X6

Last nights workout

Bench

135x10

225x2

295x1

345x1

400x1 very narrow miss (I thought I had it and held wait right at cusp of sticking point for 5 seconds befoe failing. )

300x9

Incline Bench

Great work guys. Looks like Kris and Mike are getting close.

I think I'm still a ways out from 400 myself. Not gonna try maxing til the 23rd though. Really need a spotter.

Hmmm. The training log shows that I haven't done any heavy benching since July 9th. Looking to get back into it once I return from Flarda.

I wish I had a spotter too. I think I would have gotten 400 yesterday with spotter for lift off. Oh well. I did get a couple adjustable sawhorses at Home Depot last week that I'm using for a safety rack now . 30 bucks each and now I don't have to dump the big weight when i miss. They are a perfect height for my bench too!
