the 240 2hp was not locked out but, seemed like a good lift. the best I have ever done at home was 230 once on 10/25/12. my comp PR is 232 at gripmas 2012. so, now I have to figure out what I've been doing that's making a difference.

From various training logs I read - it looks like some big pinch lifts will be done this year!

hope so. during my warm ups and grippers I was also rearranging the whole basement. so, hopefully there was more in the tank if I had approached things normally.

I needed some more time. I don't think I was really using the correct weight. I should have been going about 20# heavier I think.

they seemed hard but not hard on you. I think I'll be keeping them in for a while. they went quickly and I try to keep things short on wed's.

2" db rows @ gym 115# 5x5. looks like I'll get to increase weight again for next month. I think I'm going to stay at 120 for a while and try to add more reps. that way my bench day will be heavier rows while my pressing day will be higher volume.

do conv axle 5x5 270. brutal hard, lots of resets. I was hoping going from 310 for triples to 270 for 5 would have given me an easy week. it did not. the plan is to stick with this weight for a while adding reps. we'll see how it goes.

I've been considering dropping Axle weight back and adding reps as well. I'm 4 months out from a comp so a couple of months of reps shouldn't hurt. Looking forward to seeing how it works for you.

that's it exactly. I have a print out someplace in the basement. that thing is impossibly complicated to set. 3 buttons and 5 billion different functions.

Those are huge jumps in weight for your pinch sessions. I can never get very far unless I'm going 10lbs at a time from 160 up..

I used to do 50/100/150/170/190/200/210/215 and so forth. After the testing I did a couple of weeks ago when I worked up to 245 I decided I could try something different. I will say that the first 1 or 2 reps of work feel really heavy. I am planning to keep adding weight every week with singles and see how far I can go before I start missing. seems like 50# jumps to 200 with all the other warm up stuff I do is working.

another thing is that I try to keep my wednesday night sessions shorter. so, adding in another 3 warm up sets would really slow things down. not only would it be more sets, I'd have to take plates of to make room for more 25's. I was a bit worried that with those big jumps I wouldn't be able to pull any weight but, it seems ok. so far.

that makes sense if you can pull it off... especially because you can save your skin for the heavier attempts and not wear it down trying to slowly warm up the tendons.. sounds like you might make yourself a spot in the 250 club by nationals, awesome work Brent
