Grippers L/R: CoC #3: 3/3 Filad #3: 3/3 5/5 5/5 5/5 3/3 3/3 3/3 3/3 = 8 set CoC #3: 3/3 Felt just as easy as the first set! 2HP (with some thumb protection): 1x3 @ 50kg 1x3 @ 80 kg 1x3 @ 90 kg 5-6x3 @ 85 kg Bleh... I think I'll try doing 10x5 @ 70-80 kg next week!

I'm sorry, but I have to ask.... why on earth are you training with a #3 if you can do 3 consecutive sets of 5 reps with each hand, then a bunch of 3-rep sets, and by the end of the workout it feels as easy as when you begun? It sounds to me that you should definitely workout with a harder gripper. Can you do those sets of 3 reps with a BBE, maybe?

Martin_Arildsson
2006-11-09: Some benchpress, the toughest set this time was 7 reps at 140 kg. Also some military presses, pushdowns, formulator and TTK. 2006-11-10: Deadlift: 1x3 @ 160 kg 1x5 @ 200 kg Double overhand PR! 2x5 @ 220 kg the sets at 220 felt slow... I did some bent over rows, pulldowns and dumbell curls. 2006-11-13 Squat: 1x5 @ 180 kg 160 kg x 8 6 8 8 I think all the sets @ 160 kg was done with a bit narrower stance. Grippers L/R: CoC #3 1/1 BBE 1/1 (Felt really easy) CoC #4 0(4-5mm)/0(3-4mm) PR? CoC #4 0/0 Way off. And followed by 7 singles with BBE, closed some and missed some. I had big problems with setting the gripper some times, especially at the second attempt at #4 with my right hand... One of the fingers just got locked in some weird way. I also noticed that I'm not used to set BBE and grippers above. 2HP: 1x5 @ 60 kg 1x1 @ 80 kg without towel 1x2 @ 100 kg without towel 7x5 @ 80 kg 1x15 @ 80 kg I just wanted to get done! Don't know if I want to call it a PR, it just got easier for every reps, I could probably do 5reps more, atleast.
Martin_Arildsson
Maybe it was a little bit more between the handles at the #4 attempt... Can't really decide... But I got it on video.

lifesnotfair
Dude, I know I am VERY weak compared to you, and I'm noone to be suggesting stuff to you, BUT.... I have noticed that you don't do negatives on the #4. You just rep the #3 and ocationally the BBE, and you expect to close the #4 like that. I think that's an AWFUL idea. I think, that being 4-5mm away from the #4, you could do some negatives instead, and within 1-2 months I bet you could hold it shut even if assisted, and in another month you'd be closing it. Or change the times, maybe a bit more, but I think you MUST include your goal gripper in your training. Read Stalwart Sentinel's log recently and see how he's progressing towards the #4, by USING IT! Just an example tho, everyone's different. But I think at that level, doing 10 sets of 3 reps with a #3 wont do crap. Attempt your #4, and no matter if it's 3mm or 10mm, force it shut, and try to HOLD IT CLOSE. I'm sure within 6 weeks you will be holding it shut or very close! Or keep doing those pansy reps on the #3 .... that's like me repping the Store-bought gripper =P

I went from only getting the #3 on a good day to owning it with just a couple of weeks doing forced closes.

Martin_Arildsson
2006-11-29 Some grippers and biceps and triceps. I feel that I lost some motivation with grip training so I will lay low on the grip front for a while. But I might do some gripwork, atleast some thickbar and grippers.
