That's a good volume of gripping!  BTW, how many grippers do you own?

John,

I own 20 different grippers.

I'm back.

Anyone miss me ?

I've been so busy at work that I have not had time to keep track and post my progress. I've been focusing on grippers and laying off the bending.

Right now my training consists of training on Monday and on Friday.

I am doing 10 second overcrushes with my BB Master and my Shiny HG250.

I only do around 3 to 5 sets but the gains are coming fast.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

I missed you Travis! Glad to have you back on the Board. Maybe we can all find a time to meet at my house for a GripFest2? I have a lot of time off in December...I'll let you guys know for sure.

  • 10 months later...

Sep 13 2005

I've got my sights set on the TNS destruction of my 2 3/4 spread Super Master.

Witnessing Ben Edwards Destroy the MM1 and an Elite and an RB260 and 5 different # 3's has motivated me to get back on the grip wagon. I will be using RML...aka..Reverse Micro Loading or Vampiring as Ben would call it. I've got my Super Master in a hose clamp right now. I've got the width between the handles set to 4 pennies. I will see how many closes I can get today in an 8 hour period. I will then rest tommorow and train again on Thursday. On Thursday I will increase the width of the gripper to 5 pennies and see how many singles I can get in 8 hours. My plan is to hopefully be dominating the Super Master in 2 months from now. Wish me Luck.

9-13-05

I think i've had enough for one day.

I've managed the following in 3 hours time.

Supermaster in hose clamp set to 4 pennies in width.

27 closes on the left hand

23 closes on the right hand

My skin is burnin' bad and my strength is gone.

Good Times.

9-13-05

Still had a little bit of energy left after the Super Master work.

I've managed the following in 2 hours time.

Heavy Grip 250 in hose clamp set to 4 pennies in width.

90 closes on the left hand

110 closes on the right hand

Skin on fingertips is on fire.

Doh!!!

9-13-05

And i'm spent. My fingertips are officially jacked.

I've managed the following since my last post.

Ironmind # 1 in hose clamp set to 4 pennies in width.

90 closes on the left hand

90 closes on the right hand

My strength is still there but my skin is failing me.

I will rest up tommorow and hopefully be right as rain by Thursday.

9-15-05

Supermaster in hose clamp set to 5 pennies in width.

17 closes on the left hand

14 closes on the right hand

One would not think that one penny would make much of a difference but it indeed does.

Heavy Grip 250 in hose clamp set to 5 pennies in width.

45 closes on the left hand

60 closes on the right hand

My hands and skin are just fried now. I will rest tommorow and hopefully be able to film some TNS closes on Saturday.

Did a little TNS Medley for Ben on Saturday.

All closes were done back to back without any rest.

All closes were with the right hand since the left had was busy holding the camcorder.

Grippers :

Right Hand :

70 closes of the Super Master set to 4 penny's in a hose clamp

4 TNS closes of the HG250

5 CCS closes of the HG250

Left Hand :

50 closes of the Super Master set to 4 penny's in a hose clamp

6 MMS closes of the HG250

I had to go easy on the left hand today. I used some wart remover on the my palm last night and missed the wart. Needless to say I ended up removing the wart and all of the surrounding area thus leaving a nice hold in my palm. DOH!!!

I refused to not train the left hand today though so I pulled out the ol' TRK...TravisRepairKit and taped myself up. At least I has able to do a little grip work with the left.

Good Times.

Grippers :

200 closes of the # 1 set to 5 penny's in a hose clamp

10 closes of the Super Hard # 2 set to 4 penny's in a hose clamp

10 closes of the Super Hard # 2 set to 5 penny's in a hose clamp

10 closes of the Super Hard # 2 set to 6 penny's in a hose clamp

10 closes of the Super Hard # 2 set to 7 penny's in a hose clamp

10 closes of the Super Hard # 2 set to 8 penny's in a hose clamp

5 closes of the Super Hard # 2 set to 9 penny's in a hose clamp

This # 2 is from 2002 and has a 3 inch spread. Ben has rated it at a # 2.4 and refers to it as the Bastard # 2.

I've owned this gripper for over 3 years and still cannot close it consistently. I have closed about 8 other # 2's without issue but this beast keeps denying me by about 1/16". I decided to teach it a lesson today by putting it in a hose clamp. Filthy Lopez will not be denied!!!
