Travis are you working set closes in the recent logs you posted? How many grippers do you have total now? If you don't mind a fellow addict asking I'm too lazy to see if you posted in any of the threads on the same topic :laugh

Jon@han

Johnathan,

I do the same volume both lefty and righty.

Both hands are dead even.

All closes with the left hand are with a set.

All closes with the right hand are with a no-set.

I have 18 Hand Grippers now.

I will be adding a BB Super Master to my collection in the near future.

Gripper Workout - Part II :

Back on 4-19-04 is timed myself to see how many times I could close the BB Super Advanced in a 10 minutes period. Here we are 3 weeks later so I decided to perform this test again to see if I am making much progress. Here are the results.

Left Hand - 30 closes of the BB Super Advanced...Previous record was 15 closes.

Right Hand - 35 closes of the BB Super Advanced...Previous record was 19 closes.

Bending Workout :

I decided to take up bending again after 3 weeks of not bending anything.

I stopped bending after I took down the Blue Nail.

I had been using Spike Style and it was really doing a number on the tendon in my right arm and was also retarding my progress on the grippers. I am now bending again but I am using only double-underhand since so many others here have had good luck with it.

It's like starting over from stratch though. I am bending beginner stuff again. Stuff that I was bending 4 months ago when I first started out. Here are the results from my first bending workout using the double-underhand style.

1 40d polebarn nail

1 7" x 3/16" cut of cold rolled weld steel

1 6" x 3/16" cut of cold rolled weld steel

3 5" x 3/16" cuts of cold rolled weld steel

6 5" x 3/16" cuts of plat steel

4 5" x 1/4" cuts of aluminum

2 4 1/2" x 1/4" cuts of aluminum

Just in case anyone is curious, the 3/16" plat steel felt harder than the 3/16" cold rolled weld steel.

Nice workout, Travis! You will not be sorry you modified your style in a way that causes less injury. I have no doubt you will be bending blue nails double-underhand soon! Keep it up.

BTW - Nice work on your grippers lately. You are really making some impressive progress!! :rock

Travis, nice to see another double underhand bender. :D You'll be smashing Blues again in a couple of months...or less. Your gripper strength has improved drastically lately. Great job!

. . . my modified adjustable # 3 . . .

Did you make this per the Tom Black article, or did you order it from Tetting or something?

So you made it yourself? I'm thinking of asking Tetting to make me one and am curious about what he might charge. If you made yours yourself, I don't suppose that you would know.

No vise... and no place to mount one. :cry If it's that easy to do, though, maybe Tetting won't charge that much.
