Did some fun grip work today. Back at the forge, felt great. Used some crs I bent and made a few scrolls.

last night I did some braced bending with .5 inch square stock and Bent some rebar over my head too. It ended up snapping.

Left arm was a little sore.. Swinging the hammer isn't tiring but using my handcrank blower  for three hours to keep the fire going is actually tiring.

Concept 2 5 minute warm up 5 rounds @250m... averaged like 57 seconds a round. 1 min rest. 10 minutes slow pace for 1700m.

11 minutes of yoga. Weighed my self i am 180lbs as of this morning.  I've gained 10lbs over the last few months and I don't think I really look it other than jeans being slightly tighter. So thats good.

Thanks John.

Just did some stretching and cut some bending stock tonight. Ordered some DR some Zoros. Hopefully are they good to deal with, way cheaper than McMaster Carr, free shipping over $50.

Probably going to have to use our 90lbs air powered jack hammer soon,. I'm excited to see how my hands feel after using it now. Anytime i've needed a jackhammer he last few years we just used our small electric 60lbs one. The air powered one is really rough on the hands but i'm wondering how they will feel like that i've been doing bending, levering and grip.

I live a boring life if this is what excites me.😐

Thank you. Did only 3 sets of pinch plus 2 signals. For some reason it lagging lately. But the strangest thing, the two singles felt really light. Maybe I just need to spend more time firing up CNS in the morning.

And I can feel some pain with the Chest Expander in certain positions with my left shoulder. Not bad pain, but I know what I need to strengthen and hopefully I’ll get less bending injuries in the future.

They get the blood pumping at 5am. I’m doing them now with the Indian clubs, it’s not much but the extra 10lbs makes it a little harder.

150  swings each side with Indian clubs and 20 minutes of yoga. No sledgehammer swings tonight. Spent about 3 hours breaking up concrete with one today.

it's spreading 😄

Jokes aside, great session. I noticed you like to bend at 6". Is it just more comfortable for you, or do you want to keep progressing on 6" because your goal is a 1/4" G5/G8?

That is just what Jedd has me on the log. I’m guessing once I get my bends under 30 seconds I think I’ll probably cut them down a 1/4 in length until I get to 5”.  That seems to be what we’ve done in the past. I’m not training for certs, just to get stronger at bending.

Actually I meant the opposite; bending at 7" (with harder stuff of course). For me, the most comfortable length is 6.5"-7".
But I see, I didn't know that Jedd is supervising your bending, fair enough 👍

I don’t have a preference yet. I’m sure in time I will. Yeah, he’s my coach for the inch, rgt, bending and levering and starting next week blob top. Anything else I do is my own thing but any questions I have about them he advises me. Really he’s a great coach, I went from not being able to double overhand a 3/16 bar to doing a 60d bright in a few weeks just from sending him a couple videos. He gives me a log every week and makes adjustment as needed.

He is a real dedicated coach. I’ve worked my balls off for all my progress but I owe a lot of it to him. When I had that numbness in the middle of the night I emailed him at 5am that day. He responded within minutes, like he does literally  90% of the time.

here’s a bend from this morning. Real happy, last week I only got this stuff down to 4”. Was afraid to go further because of injury but today I got it down to 2” relatively easy.

(a) @Jedd Johnson is awesome and (b) I've had similar experiences where I've reached out to him here and there and gotten very quick, helpful responses/insights/advice

He got my blob work to the next level by watching a couple of videos, providing me feedback on my technique, and pointing me toward specific resources at https://thegripauthority.com/ to address my opportunities for improvement.

Yeah he’s great. I honestly feel he wants to see his clients reach their goals as much or even more than they do themselves.

Yeah..."supportive" is an understatement.  Even "coach" doesn't quite capture it.  Maybe "mentor" and "advocate"?
