Late start.. passed out at 7:30 last night and no drinking was involved.. Slept until almost 6:30.. So got about 3 hours extra sleep and felt groggy after

Lit a fire, and did some yardwork this afternoon and now did some 1 arm sledge swings with 16lbs, 10lbs and 8lbs sledge. Off to do some stretching then  have beers with a friend later. I convinced him to buy beginners bending kit from EatChalkGetBig. 

Might bring my Slim The Hammerman movie over to watch with him.  He tried bending a 60d spiral but couldn't. He'll get it if he really wants to. He was shocked, said he felt his whole body working.

5min warm up 12 rounds 30sec on 30 rest. Level 6 5 min cool down and 5 mins yoga

did a few hours of blacksmithing yesterday. Been a while so just practiced some tapers.

Real blacksmiths back in the day, especially the ones that did heavy duty industrial work like boat anchors must have been so strong. 
 

Now it’s an artsy craft and most of them are nerds who make dragons.

I swear most years I dont get sick that much but i'm sick again. Caught what my sister has, which I think our electrician gave her while working at her house. I was around both of them a lot.

I wish. We have concrete to pour and time is of the essence because of the weather. My dad told me to stay home but I can’t.

I take my vitamins and try to semi take care of my myself. I guess some years you just get sick more than others.

Feel like garbage but slightly better

1h push up practice on knees

bought 5lbs indian clubs, feel my shoulders getting tighter, swung those around and did some hindu squats while swinging them.. got heart going

 

WD 3 1 rep w/  #84 up rubber bands up to 3-2... then took them off and did 1 rep 3-3 felt really easy

 

Levering 3x3 14lbs both hands

Bending reverse bending times where slower due to sickness i assume

That and levering my 20lbs sledge, while slowly building up my bending strength. 

 

Long term is I really eventually I want to get to Slim the Hammerman level with sledges. Don’t know if it’s possible given he was way bigger and his  profession.

still sick but slightly better every day. Today my best friend turns 91 and I want to bring him a burger and cake. But I don't think I should go near him.

Also got two xmas parties today I go to every year but not sure if I should go to those.

After reading @mikhael thread, I decided to mess with my grippers for 10 minutes... I use them to test my progress every few months... I can now close the 1.5 very easy and the 2 I can get down to under half an inch.  I'll test again in a few months and who knows, maybe I'll be closing a 2. 

Eventually I'd like to train grippers. But like bending it takes as much as it gives, at least for me and my body.

Train all areas of grip as a base but chase 1 rabbit at a time. That way you'll catch them all.

 

Looking forward to see you tick the Inch off.

Thank you, I will let you know if i ever have any questions... There is a lot to learn from you.

You are right about that. I learned that the hard way my first couple years of grip. You can't have too many irons in the fire.  This stuff is so addictive. It's harder for me to not do more than it would be for me to do less.

Thank you. Nasty bug whatever it is. I know so many people that have been sick the last two weeks.  Better now than xmas i suppose.

Feeling better tonight... Going to do 30 minutes of some stretching. 

Talked to a recruiter tonight. We will see. I'm going to Colorado for wedding next month and will see my cousin whos a heli pilot in Marines and uncle who was in Navy for 9 years. I'd like to talk to them.

Really the only thing physically wrong with me that I know of is my hearing isn't the best.
