barbe705
I'm going to wate until the weather is a little bit more favorable to lifting before I do anything. Plus, it's like getting a heavier block without spending anything or taking up more space. I think that getting stronger is the better choice here. it is sooo smooth now. That oven paint is much slicker than the flat black I had been using. Plus, when I stripped the paint off you could see where they had ground off rough bits. It gives me something to work on. also, last time I did the backload on the 2hp I noticed that it took my block weights down a notch. barbe705
8.4.08 gym work I was able to deadlift today even with my sore wrist. I did some bent over rows with an axle 3x5 150#. the first set was DU. I almost dropped the bar from my wrist pain. DO was fine. so, it looks like I can resume training as long as I ease into things to see if they bother me or not. Brent

I still need to work more on my set. \ 5x1 COC#3 both hands left hand was about 1/2 inch. right was pretty close. I have been closing with my right easily. This is pretty bad. I feel like I've let my training come off the tracks in the last month. It's too late to do anything for GGC but, I'm going to come up with a plan for gripmas. barbe705
GGC didn't get the #3. I think it was both my elbow and lack of gripper prep. these need to get worked more. 2hp. pulled 206 easy. owned it. then went for an attempt and missed it twice. axle, my right elbow gave out on me. I twisted away from the bar as I lost it. at least I made sure to get a mark. medley was fun. I need to work my block weights more. I got a good 90 from andrew. that should help me get the glass 90 that I got from bob at mgc. time to start training again. Brent

barbe705
I just need to make 206 as an attempt. I said I'd pull over 200 at ggc and I did, as a warmup. so, I will pull 220 at gripmas.(period) by the end of 09 I will be pulling body weight. by the end of 09 I will be in the top ten on the list. and while all that's going on I plan to bring up my grippers and bending. the grippers are something I don't really care for but, they're in every comp and I need to bring them up. also there was a lot of blob lifting going on at ggc. I compared hands to several guys and I wasn't any smaller (handwise) than them. so, I need to bring my block weights up as well. this next month I have to work for a show I'm doing but, after that it's all prep for gripmas. JAD and Ben, thanls for the praise on the pinch. i was pulling past my pr so easily that it confused me. Eaton yelled at me after for letting my head get out of the game and missing a weight that I manhandled.

barbe705
breakin out the ol' gloved 2HP; nice! I'm actually a fan of this now. I did it to add some extra volume. it protects the thumb web. It changes the "feel" so I have to think about hand placement and driving into the plate. Plus my basement gets cold in the winter and it might be the only way I can train. So, I better get used to it. the real trick is going to be doing some gloved block weights.
