My best ever DO pull on a 2" bar was 287 at BBB3 in Oct. 2007. There was no pause required at the top then and since that time I haven't pulled more than 275 in comp Thickbar is just not my friend. I don't remember everything but here are some of the highlights: Strict pressed 80's Worked up to a decently easy 178 2hp and failed on what ended up being 188. Gripmas was probably my last serious encounter with them. My right wrist has been really funky and cracky since working levers hardcore a few months ago and it just hasn't been a fun thing to train grippers or wide pinch. When closing even a reletively difficult gripper, my wrist goes through a dull pop that occasionally leaves an ache that lingers for a few minutes but doesn't effect strength. It has started to feel a bit better lately so I went after my #3 last night and managed a solid close and came with 1/4" lefty. I haven't lost it yet! I managed to get 290 a bit off my chest before it's inevitable return to my chest. Had an awesome time. Did more bench and deadlifts afterwards. So I decided to go at it a bit more conservatively today. Didn't stop me from hitting a post-op pr. 135x5 225x5 315x3 385x1 435xhover(This is 5lbs less than my all-time pr. I was happy just to move it, so I still consider this a victory of sorts. I also strapped up for this and the next few pulls) 400x2 400x2 365x1(All deadlifts from here forward were off of a 4" platform, lost grip on this one and strapped up for the last few sets) 365x2 315x5 I was thinking about some heavy shrugs and rack pulls, but figured it best if I left well enough alone for now. I haven't squatted in FAAAAAAAAR too long, so this was a feel-it-out day. 2HP 140x1 160x1 170x1 180xhover 170xhover 160x a slew of singles done between squat sets Squats 135x5 225x5 315x3x1 325x0(had it going up fast out of the hole but went out of the groove, had to dump) 295x2 275x3 and 5 sets of 2 reps with 140 on the 2HP. Everytime I go for this weight, it just hovers off the floor and grinds up. This one was no different. It took at least 2 seconds to get it to my knees before I had to drop it. 405x1 385x1 335x3 standing on a 4" platform 315x5 standing on a 4" platform Did a bit of incline pressing up to 185, wasn't feeling it after the deadlifts. The skin on my left thumb hasn't healed up from last time so any slight slippage resulted in a drop. Oh well, it felt very strong off the floor. 160x2 150x1 140xa few easy reps I did a few tilted lifts of my 2.5" loadable 126lb DB and held it almost tilt-less at the top a few times both hands. I can also get it solidly off the ground without tilt. I'm close. I loaded it up to 146 and did a few tilt lifts then did some tilted-negatives with 166.
