mobsterone
You cannot oppose another hand doing 1HP and so the maths do not add up. It is also worth mentioning that one of David's 1HP records is on the old equipment (much smaller discs). That said it IS a good idea to throw in some one hand work as a means of pure pinching and then using the opposing / snapping technique. Martin did say, probably in jest, he didn't use that technique.

lifesnotfair
I also did some gripper training, I mostly used #3.5 and RB365 with extended handle for negatives. So you missed the #3.5 by 1-3/4" and could held the RB365 at 1-1/2" opening from the negative? Be cool to your fans and tell us what you were able to do with 'em!! Very impressive RAW squatting!!! Martin_Arildsson
2007-08-10 Dumbell press: 52x7 Benchpress: 3x3 @ 100 kg OH press: 1x5 @ 80 kg 2x6 @ 80 kg Barbell curl: 3x8 @ 50 kg -------- My elbows were aching/hurting, so I decided to take it easy. ------------------ 2007-08-12 Did alot of 1hp and blob lifts. Pretty funny that I still haven't lifted the blob50 to lockout, and yet I can 2HP 110+ kg quite easy. Half way into my workout I decided to try 2hp, and lifted 110 kg to lockout and held it for a couple of secounds. First time I trained 2hp since LGC XVII. lifesnotfair
I think there was an old post regarding Blobs and it's carryover to crushing strength. In it, some stated that if you have closed a #3, for example, but have not lifted the blob... then if you'd train blobs and strengthen your hands to the point where you can now lift the blob50, then when you take grippers again, you'll gain strength, you'll exceed your previous point. I would think it's fair to assume the same about 2HP, even more than crush maybe? .. If you can 2HP a certain weight, like the 115kg you've shown us on video, but you can't lift the blob.. maybe once you're dominating the blob, you'll start seeing gains in the 2HP after a few sessions, and eventually lift more!! Who knows!! Just keep at it

Martin_Arildsson
Thanks! Burki, I don't know what my 1RM is now, but I have lifted 270 kg. My goal for now is 300 kg, and I don't think it's too far away. If I just focus on weight lifting I think I might get it to summer next year.
