jimwylie1
Franky, I assume that the Kylie Minogue soundtrack is playing just to put you off, to make the lift harder mentally
FrankyBoy
What really worries me is that you even know the artist. It was from a random MP3 collection of a friend. No j/k, I really like that song. Must have to do sth with the vid then.
jimwylie1
That was an easy one. It's embarrassing what I know about popular culture. If your wife watched as much crap on the TV as mine you'd also be an expert! If anythings gonna put you off its that video!

FrankyBoy
Thanks for the kind words! I want that 40kg pinch on that block so badly but up to know I only can hover it a bit over the ground. If I master that weight I should be indeed very close to a 2x20kg plate pinch. FrankyBoy
09/20/2005 Levering and thumbless OHDL Sledge Event Did some easy sets for my left and some heavy singles on my right. Best was a lever of a 7,5kg hammer. Video Thumbless OHDL using an oly-bar Did some singles lefty and righty as lockouts. Then I went for 95kg as a full DL with my right. DuTCH
hey, that looks good! Just a pointer, i think your legs should be straight with the OH lift... edit: Nevermind it, your legs are straight.. FrankyBoy
Valid point nevertheless since I didn't pay any attention to my legs, neither during the lift nor later on the vid. Thanks.

FrankyBoy
Thanks Jim. 09/22/2005 Morning Session vbar Today finally a vbar session. I was really scared of this workout since I totally ripped my skin in my last 10 workouts and my last 2 contests. So obviously I needed something to change. So I went with lower weights but higher volume. Warmup 1x40 LR 1x60 LR 1x80 LR 1x90 LR Workout 5x1x100kg LR 5x1x105kg LR Everything looks fine now. Skin is burning evil but there are no injuries. The workout filed a bit off from the callouses but the skin is still fully intact. Next session I will carefully increase the weights. jimwylie1
That's a lot of lifts Franky - no wonder your hands are sore! Maybe you should consider doing less reps and more weight? This won't be as hard on the skin.
burkhardmacht
Franky! I tried the thumbless OHL with the Oly bar today: At first I lifted 60kg and the second attempt was 90kg which I lifted ~30cm high - no chalk, sweaty hands and gripper workout from yesterday (which made my hands sore)! Come on Franky - You're better than me - get the 100kg (or more)! Let's go!

With my latest successful lift I honestly think that 110kg should be possible (at least for my right) at Davids contest.
jimwylie1
Franky, remember that some oly bars will be harder than others. You may very well find David's easier... or harder for that matter. The good news is that everyone will be using the same bar at the comp so it will be as equally hard for everyone.
