FrankyBoy
Thanks guys. I appreciate it. I'm in my pre contest rehab phase now. Working a lot with contrast bathes, heat lamp, massages and over night bandages on my sprained index/thumb ligaments on my right. Its slowly improving. Still a couple of days to go, so I still hope to be in a top condition in the contest.

Mikael Siversson
Congrats to the new German records in v-bar and pinch. You are getting stronger every competition.
moser1972
Congrats Franky, I will update the site soon. Waiting for the left / right results from vbar again, congrats
FrankyBoy
Thanks guys. I had a very good day with the vbar lefty which brought me the (total) record back. However, compared to every other competitor I'm still exceptionel weak in that event and if I want to be competitive overall some day I need to bring my vbar up at least 20kg each hand. BigT
11/05/2005 Eric Townsend memorial workoutStarted with grippers. Tried to get a PR with my lefty: Missed the RB240 and the narrow GM. Tried to get a new rep count on my #2 and failed too. Warmed up my right and repped my easy #3: 7 reps, new PR. Since Eric was highly interested in Bending I decided to shoot for a Bending PR also. So I wrapped a 6 1/4" Red and learned that this is not to be my day. Normally I'm flying through the kink. That time after 5 goes only a little wobble. So I turned the music louder got in rage and jumped into the bar. 20° or so were the result. After anouther couple of attempts I finally reached the real hard part, the 90° point. There I stuck for at least 30 minutes. Then with every 5 attempts I got it like 2° further. I checked that after every attempt. Finally after another hour, I had that thing close enough to use the crush of my right and brought it from 2 1/8" downto 1 7/8" in 2 single attempts. Bent Red ← nice job on those pr's and especially the easy#3 for reps
FrankyBoy
Yesterday I had the surgery on my upper left arm. 1 foot long cut to the bone, plate removed. Today at my girls house, I saw her grippers. Tried to set the S for my left: no way. Tried it no-set with a straight arm and got it. Tried the same the the RB100 and got that too, but Ouch!!!!! Ok, I'll take that as a slight hint to let my cut tripezs heal first.
burkhardmacht
I think that's better...but I already told you ..... I hope You don't train for a while in order to have a quick recovery time!

FrankyBoy
ARRRGGGGHHHH. I hate doing nothing. So I grabbed my grippers and did some no-sets with my right. Closed my cert SM, a nasty RB180 (harder than my SM) and the HG300 (also significantly harder than the cert SM). I never closed the RB180 and the HG300 no-set before. Failed on my regular SM (~1/4") and the HG400 which feels extremely uncomfortable to no-set due the big handles. Today is the first day (8th day post-surgery) my left arm feels pretty good. Triceps is still blocked which means I can't bend the arm to more than 90° but I can use it, eg. to put my shoes off or to open the cars door when sitting inside. The little infection I caught is definately stopped and slowly getting better too, so the suture doesn't burn anymore, it started to itch, a good sign. At the weekend the arm started to swell like crazy but thats already known to me from the last surgery. The circumference is now 2" bigger than usual. Looks pretty cool. I started doing lymphatic drainage on my own, I learned that during the rehab phase after my first surgery. Feels great.
Florian Kellersmann
Franky wouldn't be Franky if he would stop training because of this "little scar". And he's right: an injured left arm is no reason to stop grip training, but to do nosets with the right Congrats for your PRs

FrankyBoy
Thanks Amaury. I'm pretty confident now, the injury is getting better every day. Again some no-sets today. Currently some kind of adaption to the no-set style is visible. Grippers I closed with some efforts two days ago were shut much easier today. 1xT 1x#1 1xcert SM 1xHG300 1xRB180 0xBBSM 0xHG400 0x#3 0xRB240 0xRB210 (a hair) The failed attempts were also much closer than on monday. I guess I'm only a few workouts away from my earlier no-set strength. To be continued ...
