FrankyBoy
No worries, at least you could squat and did your workout. My lower back felt a bit stiff from running 1 hour through the squash court like a crazy chicken on thursday so I didn't even try to DL. Wow, my hands are totally messed up after the Shiny bend. Wow, my hands are totally messed up after the Shiny bend. Thanks Franky! It's indeed important to keep on training and never think about quitting. I have no clue how difficult that Shiny is but if Your hands are messed up it must be some freaky piece of steel!
FrankyBoy
Agreed. Do you remember the 290kg challenge bar I failed to cert on at your home?? Today I bent that bar again, video is in the gallery ... Benching rocks! The 6 1/4" Shiny is between spot 9 and 10 of the top-50 bending list. But the effective bending time was 9 minutes. I'm weak. burkhardmacht
Good job on the 290kg bar! I'll use a bit heavier weight in the squat for some workouts in the near future as Theo suggested. Perhaps the 100kg will feel much easier then. Yesterday the temperatur of the training room was so high that I had the feeling I could not get enough air into my lungs. Additional the last meal before the workout made my lifting belt fit very tight....
bencrush
Great job on the 6 and 1/4" Shiny Bastard!
Booyah!!!
Those bends are awesome Franky!!! I still haven't made much progress on the Huge Shiny, still about the same. That is Friggin tough!!!
FrankyBoy
Uh, compliments from two of the best benders out there. Thanks Ben and Mike. Mike, I currently can't imagine a Huge Shiny either. I think even a 6.5" Edgin is easier to crush down.
FrankyBoy
01/01/2007 Apollons Axle Idea again is a 5x5 scheme. I did choose 125kg (275#) and tried that one: 125kg x 5,6,7,4,3 Weight was about right, I just wanted to test how many reps I could get in set 2 and 3 to see if the weight was much too easy but it wasn't. Next workout I'll go with 127.5kg (280#).

FrankyBoy
Thanks Gary for the encouragement. 01/02/2007 Gym Man, that bending session two days ago made my body hurt today. Elbows were under fire today so I kept it simple. Bench 10x20kg 15x20kg 15x20kg 7x50kg 3x70kg 1x90kg 1x100kg 1x115kg 1x130kg,286# PR (+5kg) Was ok to do that lift, not totally easy but good control. Might have been good for another 2,5 kg. 110kg x 4,3 Pec felt pretty sore in these sets. Lat Pulldown Wide Up to 105kg x 5,5,5 Lat Pulldown Narrow 80kg x 5 90kg x 5,5,5 Elbows did really hurt. DB Strict Shoulder Press 25kg x 6,7 (PR) 32,5kg x 9,10 (PRs) Afterwards some sets on the scott biceps curl machine. Regardless of the bending on sunday I was strong but pretty achy. FrankyBoy
Felt week today, several bad news didn't make my day. So after the warmup session at the bench I decided to do bending instead. NOT SMART!!! Failed on a sub 5" common german nail in the early kink phase. I was already better with shorter versions of that stock. Afterwards, just for fun I tried a Mag. Bastard. It was my first attempt ever on that bar and I learnt to be better on my peak before trying that bar. Got it to 75° and there it sits now ... bencrush
75 degrees on the Mag Bastard is great Franky! You'll get that thing in NO time now...you still using your crush pads? Those should help when it gets a bit under 90 degrees at least.
FrankyBoy
Thanks Ben. I still use my crush pads but can only use them well behind the 90° point thats true.
