burkhardmacht
Yes, the training was a bit crazy! I'll try to do 25x100kg in 4-5 days and in 10 days I'll rep 60kgs until failure - hopefully 70 reps!
FrankyBoy
12/8/2006 Grippers and Levering Very short session. Closed the 2.5 lefty, not too hard. But the 3.5 is pretty stout for my right. Will work on this. Front Levers weren't bad but failed on a 4.5kg attempt.
FrankyBoy
12/8/2006 Gym Day No so good, especially after tuesdays successful session. Bench 15x20kg 15x20kg 10x20kg 6x50kg 2x80kg 1x100kg 117.5kg x 5 (A),4 (A), 3 (A) The 4th rep on 117.5kg was already assisted even though only barely touched. So: bad session. I hope on tuesday my strength is fully back after 3 rest days. Lat-Pulldown Wide Grip 15x32.5kg 10x52.5kg 3x82.5kg 102.5kg x 5,5,5,5 not bad. Shoulder Press Left: 26kg x 5(PR),4,3 Right: 35.5kg x 5(PR),4,4 Right hand was done with 3kg DB and 32.5kg DB. Thats really weird to lift with since the 3kg DB has a full sized handle also. Good. Scott Curls Left: 20kg x 3,3,2 Right: 25kg x 4,3,3 ok.

Alexander
You comp with Flo is really crazy-but i am sure you both will make it; there was an athlete at the FIBO 10 years ago and he also made 100X100 in squatting; after my normal deadlifting training i thought i try it too-i made 20 reps with 120- but i was breathing like a rhino! FrankyBoy
Yes, breathing is a big issue. I think I was 'a bit' over confident with those 100x125kg.
acorn
Yes Franky abit crazy . I never trained endurance, but when I was in college we tested once to see how many reps we could get on squats in a set. I can't remember whether it was 225 or 275 anymore but I hit 70 before I puked. Good luck. - Aaron

FrankyBoy
Thanks Flo. 12/11/2006 Grippers/Pinch/Lever Lefty is still messed up. At least three fingers are slightly injured (strainments) so I wanted to keep it simple. Especially I avoided the 2-hand pinch. No new PR here, failed couple of times on 4.37kg. Lefty is aching now but results were fine under those conditions.

FrankyBoy
12/12/2006 Gym Was sick today and therefor awefully weak. Bench Up to 120kg x 5,4,3, looks good but many assisted reps. During warmup already 90kg felt like more than 100. Lat pull down wide grip 105kg x 5,5,5 Basically ok. Strict Shoulder Press Lefty: 26kg x 2 Session stopped. Diarrhea. the swiss
Ok I somehow managed to refrain from posting this, but I just can't help myself. be CAREFUL guys! high rep squatting is already dangerous, but imo feasible with very strict technique. but high rep deadlifting?!?!? sorry for being boring, but I only see one possible outcome of this challenge: injury. Much too dangerous for the benefits it might bring... good luck to both of you anyway. david

I hope we don't injure ourselves and I hope Franky will be as sensible as myself in order to prevent injuries. My back hurts every day since 16 years - that's normal. The more sport I do, the less it hurts That's because my muscles in the back get into motion and can relax from their work to get my kinked spine straight. The back pain has also something to do with my work at the writing desk all the day. So I'm more than happy to train my ass off while squatting! BTW: I have no pain in the back today and my legs are not sore!
FrankyBoy
Nice going Burki! Thanks David for the heads up. I think that the weight I'm using for the DLs is not that high, so that the risk of injury is pretty low. Why? Because I'm using a different style for lower weights than for max attempts (guess I mentioned that once in our earlier discussions?). So a DL at 100kg or 125kg looks more like an olympic lift in the beginning, if that makes any sense. So far my back didn't get sore at all the next days after a high rep set, but my legs were like crazy. I'll try to get 30 reps tomorrow with 100kg. Alexander
I also do not believe that high volume training is dangerous-at least not more dangerous for your health than trying to close the #3 30 times a day
