ChrisJames
Hello Ben, This exercise as well as testing grip also tests pain tolerance ! Its awfully painful and i feel it more after i put the weight down. David and Kevin Fulton are both tremendously strong and tough guys. Well done on the 310 lbs mate thats awesome lifting. Jeff Parker
Awesome lifts as always Chris! Besides direct thickbar work, what do you think has helped your thickbar strength the most?
ChrisJames
Hi Jeff, Block weight pinching is an awesome exercise mate , not just deadlifting heavy ones but tossing -lighter ones in the air and catching in a pinch grip. The Holle it up dumbbell is also great for the thumb strength. I found that when i really want to push the thick bar , i take a tip off the greats like Apollon , Saxon and Goerner and do all me training using thick bar.Everything from swings, snatches , cleans, rows , curls , etc. Once you adapt to the volume , i think you will find a nice increase to your strength and forearm development. Hope this helps mate.
Jeff Parker
Thanks for the reply Chris. I am going to give it a shot doing everything with a thick bar. Thick bar has always been my worst event even though I am fairly good at blobs and the like.

ChrisJames
Sorry Terry mate, I was going to take my two sons up to the show as my assistants and they were going to do some bending , tearing and pinching also. I was promised accomadation and expenses , i had to give up two shifts at the nightclub where i am head door man and hire a van to take the equipment 200 miles to the Excel centre. As of Friday morning , i still didn't have a hotel to stay in (theres no way i'm going to London Friday night with no where to stay with my 10 year old boy) and no confirmation of any payment for expenses. So i had to pull out before i lost anymore money. My training partner went , Chris Jenkins , and pulled 710 lbs for 3 reps at 198 lb bodyweight. This year we are going to push him up to the 220 class and break some records.
