MANTHOS
Just checking if I can post photos... http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz17/MANTHOS_PHOTOS/0024.jpg This is my workout place. Sweet oldschool gym!!! Yes it is Mike. It's the weightlifting room at the city stadium. A city with 150,000 citizens and only 5(!!), including me, go there for real training... Noone here seems to care for strength training and that upsets me a lot.

MANTHOS
24/11/2009 2 HAND PINCH: I found a tube and I use a 20kilo Olympic plate with a 10kilo one. They are rubber plates but I don't have iron ones. Here how it looks like: http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz17/MANTHOS_PHOTOS/2HPPinchSetup1.jpg and its 8cm thick : http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz17/MANTHOS_PHOTOS/2HPPinchSetup2.jpg The tubes weight is 2 kilos. 32(70) x2x5 42(93) x5 52(115) x5 62(137) x1 72(159) x2x1 74.5(164) x1 I don't know the set up the Gripboard monsters use (lifts beyond 230-240) but 164 was the best I could do! I MUST train my pinch! After that I tried to pinch 5kilo iron plates. I managed to pull up 5 of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_TNJPGtbNI At the end of the session I did, for the first time, ONE HAND DEADLIFTS. Here again I felt extremely weak compared to our Gripboard monsters...all I managed to do is 100kilo(220) with right hand and 90(198) with left. I did this with regular grip. I tried 110(243) with hook grip...I did it easily but I don't know if hook grip is allowed for that lift.

My wife and my son were there too that evening...I asked Fotis(the spotter) to spot me because my wife didn't want to be on vid...!! :laugh Now really I trust him Mike...He's an old time weightlifter...He is a little bit stronger than he looks and he knows exactly when to help if needed. Guest Bullitt
Um, yea... I missed the 5 5kg plate pinch! That's a great lift and it looked like you had plenty of hand size to add another plate when you have the pinch strength. Awesome strength my friend! Send that video to Jedd Johnson and get on the 5 dimes cert list. The list is very short of those who have been able to pull 6 10lb plates. If you could do it eventually with 6 5kg plates, that would be HUGE!!! On the 2HP, 80mm is very wide. If you can find some thinner plates, you will pull much bigger numbers. Most guys with your hand size pull at a width of 54mm. Edited November 25, 2009 by Bullitt
Shoggoth
Congrats Manthos! One thing to note when you're pulling 5 x 5kg plates that's 55#'s so there's 10% more weight on your lift vs. the conventional 5 dimes. Nice!
