Magnus
Got home from vacation last night. 1:00am in the morning and I went down to check and see what my pinch was doing. 182 came up twice, and easier than my previous pull, too. PR. And I've only been training grippers since the GGC. Seems grippers have some carryover after all. I'm guessing I can hit around 210 on Jedd's Euro right about now. I then went over to the TTK, where I still had 10lb on it, and ripped off some reps. EASY...felt more like 5lb actually. Gonna get back two lifting today, too. It's been way too long. Haven't done anything since 9/16, and my diet's been garbage while I've been on vacation, which is doubly bad considering I went straight into it from just getting over a cold. I fear to think what happened to my numbers I'll be satisfied it I can still pull 440 and bench 300. Not to convinced, though. We'll see. Magnus
Dude calm down, you've got the rest of your life. Time off is good you'll come back better than before maxes will be off that's all Rico Well, you're right. It did go a little better than I thought it was going to Monday, 10/5/09 Just getting back into the groove Benchpress: Warm-up - DB 40 x 8 115 x 8 215 x 5 265 x 2 285 x 1 301 x 1 301 x 1 301 x 1 265 x 3 265 x 2 The 301 benches were EASY. They flew right off my chest every time. Considering my bench is usually the first thing to go, strength-wise, I'm pretty happy with that. Strict DB hammer curls: Starting out slow and light with these. 40 x 10 Barbell curls: 114 x 8 Inch handle work after that. Did some thumbless rows with 106, the worked up to 166 doing regular deads with it.
Magnus
Tuesday, 10/6/09 5-10s: W/ pipe - a few quick rows to warm-up Added weight up to 27lb (77 total), only got it left handed. Forget where I stopped righty. 68 total, I think. Back down to lighter weight for rows after that. TTK 10lb x 20 reps, each hand. Feeling stronger on this thing 1hp @ 48mm Thumbs fried by this point. Worked up to 72lb. 2hp @ 48mm Just a single @ 152 A few drop passes on my inch handle @ 126lb Grippers #3 x a 1 set of 3 reps, then some knurling grinding, then some mini reps, both hands. Secret Weapon x 1 hold/mini-reps mix each hand @ 50lb

Magnus
Did another little gripper workout tonight too. Right hand - #3.5 x 5, #3.5 x 1, #3.5 x 1 Left hand - #3.5 x 2, #3.5 x 2, #3.5 x 1, and I think another single. That's just not right. It's a hard chain to break. Did some quick benching today, and I realized that things north of 300 are beginning to feel easy. Did 305 twice. Felt like 260, and the second one was easier. Felt downright rep-able. Magnus
Shoulder workout from yesterday. Only thing worth note: Seated DB press - 80lb x 3 sets of 8 That was the first shoulder-specific workout I had in a while.
Magnus
Sunday, 10/11/09 Brother in law was over today, so we both went for maxes. 115 x 10 165 x 10 215 x 2 265 x 2 285 x 1 315 x 1 315 is my old PR. I wasn't really feeling it today. I think if I hit it the other day when I was feeling good, I might have hit around 330. Casey hit 265...not bad, considering all he ever works out on it the machine where he works. Also deadlifted 454 on a lark. Felt good. Also realized something about the bar I use for benching. The inner collars are off center by 3" in the right side's favor. That means my left has been adapted to the extra weight, cuz I never really realized that the left was heavier, but I felt it when I used that bar for doing deads (cuz I never use that bar for deads). Explains why the outer head on my left tricep is bigger than the right one. Wonder what my maxes would do if it was centered correctly. Gonna cut that collar off and weld it back in place where it should be.
