Ivarboneless
Sore. The kinked stuff is from attempts I made to bend the steel months ago, and I'm just finishing the barely kinked stuff. Hand: 1X1 #1 CCS 1X3 #1 CCS 3X1 #2 attempts took it to 1/16" righty!!!! SO CLOSE! 2X1 #1 no set 1X1 inverted #1 no set (left) 4X1 60D hot galvanized (DU all the way) 1X1 blue nail (DU all the way) 1X1 finished ~10 degree kinked G2 1/4"X6" hex bolt (DU all the way) 1X1 finished ~15 degree kinked Yellow Nail (DU all the way) Handstand: 1X1 handstand pushup 2X2 handstand pushups 2X3 handstand pushups 2X7 handstand pushups (missed 8 both times....balance) Abs: 1X150 slow legs raised head to knees situps 1X300 legs raised elbows across knees situps 1X250 legs raised elbows across knees situps 1X250 V-ups 1X3:00 hollow hold 3X300 russian twists Good bending. I felt strong bending the blue. I want to take a photo of my snake bag that I use for a pad, it has so many holes in it now it's rediculous. SO FLIPPING CLOSE TO THE #2. I thought I was going to close it when my first attempt took it easily to my 1/8" marker and held onto it. Unfortunately my best attempt took it to 1/16", I tried to hold it closed, but it opened up a hair opened up same distance inverted left hand. All #2 attempts are CCS unless noted. Ivarboneless
Jan 13, 2007 Still a little sore, but not too bad. He was really dominating me in the first five or so matches right handed. Just too much power. My endurance if way better though, and after that I was winning every match. He stopped my street style toproll a few times, but it didn't matter because I still pinned him in a hook. Left hand I went undefeated and never got taken more than slightly off balance. I won pretty easily. I hope that the handstand pushups are what caused me to lose so devastatingly right handed, but I have my doubts. If he really does have that much more power than me I'm in trouble. Endurance doesn't matter a lick whenever it's a $20 bet in one street style match. Ivarboneless
Yesterday My friend and I walked the 2 miles to home depot, bought ~100lbs of wood and carried it strongman style (50lbs a piece) all the way back to my house. It was cold. We needed some wood to build an armwrestling table since our school now has an armwrestling club. Today: First day of armwrestling club. I went undefeated. Some kids have some pretty wicked toprolls, just naturals I guess. Not too many people there, but many of my homies said that they could make it next week, we will see. I did my normal abs workout yesterday and considered carrying and building the armwrestling table my upper body workout.

Ivarboneless
Good meet! Tough competition again, but I was hitting my routines. Rings- 3rd Vault- 3rd (9.7) Pommels 6th....bah I made up for my sad floor routine last week. This was at the same gym so I erased my old failures. I didn't place on floor, but I did well. Stuck Vault and scored 9.7, which was good for 1st for a long time then it was put down by 9.75's (!!!) the judge told me "That was an awsome Vault", I was the first to vault in the whole meet. Rings was good, but I had some minor form errors ruining a possible second place, 1st was out of my league, stuck dismount again. Problems on pommels, but I pulled it through. I think I closed the #2, but I wasn't 100% sure so I will wait until my #2.5 closing friend verifies a close. A dude asked for a picture of my mullet, so I let him grab a couple. Ivarboneless
Jan 20, 2006 I'll cut right to the chase, #2 CLOSED...CLOSED...FELT THE HANDLES CLICK SHUT Four hours of gymnastics. Hand: 15X1 #1 No Set 2X3 #1 CCS 1X1 #1 No Set 3 fingers (left) 1X1 FLOG 1X1 #1 inverted no set (right) 3X1 #1 inverted no set (left) 5X1 #2 CLOSED (slightly wider than // right hand) Many #2 attempts to 1/8" (left) Many attempts to hold #2 closed (left) a few #2 no sets down to 1/4" (left) 1X1 finger planche pushup 2X1 thumb pushups 2X1 medium orange pony Handstand: 30 minutes of one arm handstand practice (table KO'd my foot) 2X1 handstand lower left elbow to ground press handstand repeat with right arm lots of random handstanding around and random handstand pushups Planche: hit a little bit of planche stuff. lots of stagged planches. NAILED THE #2. Now I am happy because I met my goal that I set a long time ago, to close the #2 before my 17th birthday. I looked at my list of goals from way back when I started grip training and they were: Close #2 (Done) Bend yellow nail (Done) can also bend blue nail Bend Horseshoe (Incomplete) can only bend filed horseshoe Close small red ponyclamp (Done) with one thumb of course Lift 45hex to full lockout (Incomplete) *note: this list does not contain bodyweight grip goals, such as rafter chins or climbing stuff. For most people closing the #2 means the start of the "Quest for the #3", but for me it marks the end of my serious crush training. I like training for climbing, and once I officially win the race to the #2 I will drop crush training and get back to climbing hard. Ivarboneless
Jan 21, 2006 Hand was sore, but I had to show my #2.5 closing friend that I am closing the #2. Solidly closing both #2's and managed a successful attempt on my #2 left handed inverted. Still an 1/8" to go regular style though. Bending pennies in the pliars was really fun and a hard grip exercise. I was going to work extensors, but didn't finish. I also did some stretching. A couple of my "tricks" are actually gymnastics skills that are worth a fair amount of points. One arm elbow lever 1/2 turn press to handstand.............C One arm handstand........................................................B Jump to handstand (Dive on the ground)...........................B Arabian jump to handstand..............................................C Wide arm handstand........................................................B I already knew about the wide arm handstand, but the arabian jump to handstand is music to my ears. I have been practicing jumping off things on my hands and landing in a handstand and a halfturn jump to handstand is not that difficult for me. The skill is also a C which means it is worth more than an Iron Cross on rings
Ivarboneless
Two hours of gymnastics. Really sore. Still working on my strength skills. P-bars is becoming my good event . Ivarboneless
Had my birthday dinner tonight, birthday tomorrow, so I skipped the rest of my abs. Armwrestling club gained new members, and we took photos. Abs: 1X150 slow legs raised head to knees situps Back: 2X75 reverse leg raises Hand: 5X50 extensors 6 bands 1X100 extensors 4 bands 5X200 extensors 3 bands 1X1:00 extensor hold 6 bands Armwrestling: 1 hour of practice at school. Then beat my #2.5 closing friend right handed street style in a ~7min match. Left handed went undefeated. I am very happy that our armwrestling club is gaining popularity. I think the guys thought that just because I am not huge and swollen that they would blow through me, but nobody other than my #2.5 closing friend was very much of a challenge. I hope we get some stronger people soon, but I am just stoked that we are gaining popularity and members. Birthday tomorrow, which means I get a birthday trick at gymnastics. I am debating over a few things.

Ivarboneless
Felt really lethargic and fell asleep in class. I was trying to stay awake, but my eyes were just too heavy and I caught some Z's. Still felt like crap when I got home and started my workout, but for some reason it was a good one. Bending a 60D bright common has been my goal for a while now and I finally owned it, and DU all the way no less. As a bonus I also took down the 60D hot galvanized (not TT), but it was considerably harder than the 60D bright common and I had to flip it to DO. My apologies that I have been mistakenly listing "60D hot galvanized" instead of TT this whole time. From now on 60D hot galvanized means what it says. Ivarboneless
Jan 29, 2007 Two hours of gymnastics. My hands felt really weak all day. Last week practices were awesome and I was hitting my skills and then today it was just crap. Meet on friday. Almost made 100' again, but as I was turning the second corner on the floor (40' X 40') I fell. Really suprised to close the #2 I gave it an attempt before I went to gym and it was ~1/4", and then when I got back I closed it HARD and felt the handles smash together, I ground them against each other to see if it was really closed and sure enough they were grinding. Ivarboneless
Pretty decent day. Wrists still sore from bending the 60D's, but I'm still hyped about it so the wrists can stay sore . Beat #2.5 closing friend after much trash talking . He got me the second match though, but I was deadly serious on winning the third, but we ran out of time and my ride had to go so it was 1-1. Pretty much everything was just conditioning, nothing except the diamond handstand pushups and the #2 stuff is even close to my max. I have started to hold after the set. For instance, set the gripper then hold it there 3secs then mash it closed and hold it closed. This way the amount of set I use is clear. I also closed my friends new #2 (good knurling if anyone is curious), it appears to be slightly easier than mine with a smaller spread. So I can close all three #2's that are in the system. Before this recent success my planche strength dropped dramatically and I felt like I would never get there, but persistance (and probably the reverse leg raises) pulled me through. Ivarboneless
Feb 6, 2007 I used to be a scooterer, I loved to just go scooter around gapping stuff and grinding stuff ect. My friend and I decided to go skate (scooter for me), and we had a killer time. I am still pretty much as good as I was, just need to get consistant with my tricks again. Some punk jocks drove up and started talking trash about my mullet and my scooter, I was ready to throw down. My friend mooned them and they drove away, so I didn't get to beat any football player butt. It would have been 3 on 2, but I just hate when peeps start talking stuff and I was looking for a fight. No abs due to scootering until late at night. Pull/chinups: 1X30 chins 1X30 pullups 1X15 slow Mr T chins Way to drive off punks, 3 on 2 is not good enough odds for you? lifesnotfair
You must have some killer abs. Why is it that when people train abs, it's always huge volume and not with weight resistance? I mean, I always see people doing stuff like you're doing... 100, 200, 300 and several sets... Why not a couple of sets of 5-10 reps, with a lot of resistance? It surely would require much less time to perform I bet. You'd need a machine or something though.

Wes
Leg: broad jumps started toe behind the line then measured at the heel25 X 7' standing broad jump (all jumps were ~6" over 7' mark) 1X20 squats Going climbing on real rock again this weekend, so I didn't train arms (they are sore anyway). I thought my standing broad jumps were good....then I see that Wes posted jumps of 8'3" and 2X25 @ 7'........ Nearing my 17th birthday.....I want to close #2 before I turn 17. I think my #2 is pretty much a good average #2, It felt the exact same as two other #2's and a little harder than a third one. Hehe, you gotta remember I'm like six and a half feet tall, you are smoking me really Good looking stuff here, way to be a man and keep da' mullet! Ivarboneless
Lifesnotfair: Unseenbeat is right, I train in such volume because in my sport I need my abs to have excellent endurance. Certain exercises such as Dragon Flags would be a positive addition to the routine, but I can't really find the time to add them. Believe me my abs are plenty strong, and as I've stated before in my log, never get sore. Wes: Feb 8, 2007 Wide arm handstand: 3X8sec deep Iron Cross: Trained the iron cross a bit on my new rings that allow full range of motion hence the "iron cross touch" formerly listed in my log. Now with my new rings I can train the whole cross. Rock lifting: 3X1 Cleaned 127lb rock (warmup) 2X1 STRICT PRESS 127lb rock Just fooled around because I have a gymnastics meet tomorrow. I finally hit the rock for a strict press, but my #2.5 closing friend hit it for three reps this time where last time he could only manage one, I just can't keep up with this guy! I'm about to start training handstand pushups again instead of planches so that I can trash him at overhead pressing!
Ivarboneless
Feb 9, 2007 Gymnastics meet: 6th Pommels 3rd Rings 4th Vault 1st Parallel Bars I was feeling sick all meet and was making mistakes in my other events that were going to cost me. I was just in general not feeling to hype about this meet. I just felt weak and drained the whole night. I debated about skipping P-bars, but decided just to go ahead and do it. I hit the best P-bars routine of my life and it paid off for me and I left the meet feeling great. Some chicks came up to me at the meet and said, "We like your muscles" and pretty much followed me around all night cheering me on and such. Yep gymnasts get all da ladies .
