Cannon
This has been since today, changed my gripper workout a bit, was getting bored. I tried my 3.5 (about 3.6) today, and it was less than a 1/4" off, so i'll be guessing in a few workouts there'll be a vid. Nice, Dutch. I wish I could close that kind of gap in "a few workouts"! mobsterone
What bar are you doing your one hand deadlifts on?
DuTCH
Thanks Cannon! It's a EZ-curl bar, with a round bend in the middle non knurled.
Florian Kellersmann
Thanks Cannon! It's a EZ-curl bar, with a round bend in the middle non knurled. You should try an olympic barbell, Theo. They feel probably different. Not sure, if the numbers are compareable.
DuTCH
Well, i thought about that, but there are 2 reasons not to use an olympic bar -With an olympic, the ROM is bigger, and i don't want to strain too much -It's non knurled, wich gives a different feel next to the fact that it's cambered.
mobsterone
True but a cambered bar is easier than a straight bar. Old time lifters used to use bent bars to practice the lift on. The lack of knurling may even things out - we'll see
DuTCH
If you read closely, i said i don't want to strain i.e don't lift heavy Heavy you'll see this thursday when i get some lifts on video, and come 24th of february!
mobsterone
You know we're using a proper bar don't you...

DuTCH
Bent a grade5 bolt today! woohoo!!
DuTCH
Axe deads: worked up to 162,5kg for a single, and then messed around with 145kg for triples, doubles and singles. A total of 10. Thumbless: 2 singles with 115kg, and 2x110kg. Pulldown, 3 sets, last set 5x80kg. 2" db work, got 75kg left, and 85kg right. Low numbers, due to the fact that it's a very smooth piece of pvc. Figured i wouldn't get much more per hand than the 2hand total on an axe lift. some one hand snatches with 40kg, regular db.
Niels
Bent a grade5 bolt today! woohoo!! Nice Theo! I did my first IM blue bend reverse style today. Almost 90 degrees!

The pvc, depending on the thickness of the wall of the tube, may have some flex to it. See if 1) you can squeeze that flex with your thumb and 2) keep it super clean as it will scratch and so become easier to grip.
DuTCH
Thanks mb. Crappy session, too much going on in that little head of mine. Have to finish off stuff for school so wasn't really up for it. Bench, went south.. Elbow is somehow a bit strange with heavier weights, hurts a bit. Worked up to 140kg, and stopped, and opted for 5 sets of 5 with 100kg. Dips, 3 sets, last set 6xbw+20kg. Milit. Press, 4 sets of 3 with 72,5kg 2 hands db. clean and press, 4 sets, last set 2x30kg dumbells One hand deadlift, messed up. 140kg felt real light, 150 a bit too heavy. Did doubles with 142,5kg and repped out with 132,5kg Left did triples with 122,5kg and repped out with 112,5kg. Vid in gallery.
mobsterone
140-kilo lift ok. You may need a pause at the top for the refs 'down' signal. But a good lift otherwise.
DuTCH
I noticed that too, will act to that next training.
DuTCH
Crap, took me a full hour today to wake my hands up in the V-bar session!!!! Hands to greasy, washed hands, tried again, stopped at 140kg both hands, again wash the hands, do some other stuff like squats: Squats, 5 sets of 5 with 100kg (light day) Fronts, 5 sets of 5 with 50kg Tris work and bis work, Got at the v-bar again, this time it worked. Some guys motivated me to get my act together and stop whining: In singles with increases of 5 kg i worked up to a 155kg lefty, and a 170kg righty. Will upload it gallery. Axe, 4 sets of 4 with 130kg. Rt sucked once again. Tonight is 2hp and an attempt at a G5 reverse.
Florian Kellersmann
I hate v-bar, but your numbers really impress me. Way to go!

DuTCH
Squats: 5 sets of 3 with 160kg. Chins, 4 sets, 5/5/5/4 Bench, 4 sets of 6 with 80kg. My elbow is still a bit hurtin' so took it easy. Dips, 1 set of 20. St. milit. press, 5 sets of 5 with 55kg. Grippers, went allright, lacking the strength a bit to really close a hard gripper. Did negatives and overcrushes with r: #4 and bbe filed, l; filed bbe and hg300 filed. Sunday, did some 2HP: worked up to 1x90kg. Then hit 5 sets of doubles with 85kg. Went to the store today to buy some 0,5kg plates, so next session i can increase the weight a tad bit.
DuTCH
Axe deads: 4 doubles with 147,5kg 82% of 1RM. thumbless: 3 doubles with 115kg Pulldown: 3 sets, last set 6x80kg Inverted row: 2 sets under, 2 sets overhand all for 8 reps. Good mornings. Continue with the 80-85% range until i get an optimal total of 15. When i can hit 150 for doubles or triples i'll hit a max. Wow, how can you do 5 compound excercises, 5 sets of each except dips, and still have strenth to even lift the grippers!? Nice! How long did this particular workout took, approximately?
