moser1972
Wooohooo!! got back from the strongman contest.9th overall, 2nd in juniors!! Last year i was 3rd juniors.. The first place just slipped out of my hands... Truck pull, couldn't get full distance, there was a bump in the road. Weight for time in front of you, about 23kg, i got 30 seconds Farmers, really strange farmer things, 100kg each, but they were from a big sailboat pole, and very long.. i think i got 30m.. Weight for height, not my forte, got 4meters with a 25kg sack. And my highlight was the deadlift apparatus. Same as in WSM.. I got a whopping 350kg!!!! woohoooooo!!!!!!! i even got interviewed and will be on tv haha Thats great C-O! Congratulations! Way to go! Pls get the interview on tape for me Cheers T
DuTCH
The interview wasn't aired.. I got my mug in the local newspaper though!! I'll try and scan that. I am still very sore in the lower back from those heavy deadlifts!! Man.. We had to do 200-250-280-300 in one straight set.. Then it was 330 and a 350kg deadlift. Anyway, i started to train grip again.. didn't train it for nearly 2 weeks now, i think, and it's time to get serious for the HGC and mm3 Grippers: Left, 4 singles on RB260N, 1 OC on SM, and 10 no sets on #1. Right, 3 singles on filed BBE, 2 OC on filed #3 10 no sets on #1 I think 2night will be pinch and lever.. dunno yet.
lifesnotfair
Doesn't your gripping seem affected if you work it on the same day you perform those heavy deadlifts?
DuTCH
I was probably unclear, but i was referring to the deadlifts i did at a strongman contest last sunday. The grippers was today. To answer your question, no, i prefer to do benches, squats, deadlifts or any other heavy basic exercise prior to my gripper routine. I would go as for as saying that when i close a 3.2 at home , i can close a 3.5 or more after some heavy exercising. If you look around the forum, you'll see that joe kinney did heavy 20 rep squats prior to gripping to boost overall strength.

Although it may all be a bit shitty not to be about fun and games all the time, there will be plenty of time to do so afterwards. First i need my teachers degree. DuTCH
yabadaba Squats, worked up to 150kg and did 2 sets of 3 with 150kg 5x130 3x130 10x80 Tried fronts again... mwoah.. Did 1handDead.. been a while here, got 120 R and 110L so that are my current 1rm's. Grippers, Right 2 attempts SE ,, i'll put it in my gallery 1 OC with GM Left, 3 attempts GM all within less than a hair!! 1xfiled #3 1 OC with RB260N I am having some trouble setting the SE, wich is NOT good, i can't comfortably get it to parallel and then start crushing.. This is NOT nice, because wider than parallel shutting, derives some strength... I'll practice some more on setting, you'll see it in the vid.. clumsy! Stiff deads, 3 sets of 8 with

DuTCH
Yeah, i know.. Feeling it with straps will make one realize you are still miles away... 2HP.. Pretty good. 3rd session since my loooong layaway and i must say, when i hit 75kg last week, i was like mmm... Today, worked up to 80kg for 4 singles got all excited and hit 82,5kg even more excited.. 85kg! back at my previous level. almost. did some holds, and then the new flashy pinc technique. After that i did some blockweights. Now one might think i am overdoing it a bit, but reason for this is that when working with the SE i feel i lack in the pinky and ring finger. Blockweight pinches with pink and finger finger,, i mean RING finger always added some strength to my closes on grippers. We'll see.
DuTCH
Bit bored, so already did my shoulders workout: Strict Press, worked up to 2x80kg. Push press, worked up to 2x90kg Jerk, worked up to 95kg. Strict is done for 3 reps, when i can't get, switch to push for 2, and then jerk for singles.. First time i did this scheme. One arm press, 3 sets, last set 6x28kg Laterals for 2 sets, last set 10x16kg bent over laterals, 2 sets. Ab work.

You should have had nothing left for the block weights - use the technique now and again and work to failure.
