MANTHOS
Expected a good gripper day after the rest day yesterday and got it Gripper interleaved with situps: 115, 115, 115 12 x #2 BH Left #2.5 x 7, 2 (waited too long inbetween, hand had cooled down) Right 10 x ez #3 10 x n E braced set: 0xRB330 (~1mm off) 0xRB330 (paper thin) Blurry Still Shot P4 x 7 (PR) 4xchoked #3.5 5xchoked #3.5 P4 x 7 MMS: 20 x ez #3 (PR) Video strong day righty, prolly the strongest ever though I didn't get that RB330. I have to calibrate that one, I expect it at 190#. The very next goals: Closing the RB330 and 10 x P4 :bow
FrankyBoy
Thanks Manthos. Small gripper unit 10 x ez #3 3 x n E choked #3.5 x 4,4,
FrankyBoy
Gripper interleaved with situps: 100, 100, 100 10 x #2 BH Left #2.5 x 5, 4 Right Set 1: 10 x ez #3 Set 2: 13 x n E Set 3: P4 x 6 (gripper slipped) Set 4: P4 x 8 (PR) I really don't like that gripper. As a phantom #4 replica it has those slick handles. I taped the thumb handle to have a bit of grip on it and still its not the same as a 'normal' gripper. However its THE gripper I have to use according to my current rep scheme. When (or if) I'll get 10 reps out of it I will use the next level (at the moment that would be a 173# RB330N). Set 5-7: choked #4 (from the swiss) x 0, 0, 0 best attempt: Choked #4 I did put that #4 into the PDA choker for future tests. Couldn't resist (of course) and tried it. Not too smart since I needed some time to finally get it into the choker. For sure I lost some power doing this. Personal note: #4s are stupid ... the swiss
wow!! cool. very very impressive progress there Franky. your gripper strength has really come a long way! Looking forward to seeing you close my #4!
Joefrey
Nice attempt on the #4. You should maybe prepare the choked gripper long before using it so you're still fresh when it's time to use it.
FrankyBoy
Session with Martin Lots of gripper work What I remember: 13 x n Elite from MMS from braced set: 4x#3.5 4xMM3 + some choker work, this time using a hose clamp around the handles, much harder! also some fat bar work and experimenting with additional weights on the inches to increase or decrease the rotation. I switch to the MM3 now for the rep work in my future workouts. Lets see if I'll get 10. PR from last year is 5. Finger joints are very achy this morning. Guess I need some rest now ... FrankyBoy
05/11/2010 Grippers Up to MM3 x 3,2,2 right hand, 5 x #2.5 left. Thats ok. Tomorrow grippers again, after the rest day it should be better.
FrankyBoy
Grippers Situps: 100, 120, 120 12x#2 BH Left #2.5 x 5, 6 1xez #3 0 x choked MM2 (2mm off) Right ez #3 x 10 n E x 5 switching to a braced set MM3 x 6 (PR), 3, 3 MM1 x 9 8xchoked MM2 10xchoked MM2 Finally broke my all-time PR of 5 reps (september '09) with the MM3 dud. Thats promising. It has an calibration of 81kg (178#) but this calibration has been done a long time ago, when this gripper had only rarely been closed (e.g. Flo and Mobster did this). So I guess its under 80kg now. I really need a new calibration of some of my harder grippers. I appreciate that I can pretty much predict now when I'll have good session. FrankyBoy
Gripper, HARD session righty skipping my usual rep scheme for the right I maxed out using several harder grippers in the SE range. #2 x 20 BH Left #2.5 x 7 1xez #3 Right further Warmup ez #3 x 10 Training MMS n E x 14 br. set SE x 1 (2nd rep failed by 2mm) 0xMM4 (~2mm off, thats another nice goal gripper) 0xMM5 (~2mm off) 0xbrand new SE (~2mm off) MM4, MM5 and the SE felt all more or less the same. Next: Trying my brand new GE which has a mounting depth of -(!)1.5mm Turned out to be a MONSTA 0xGE set failed (yes even braced) 0xGE (~1.3 parsec off): pic 1xMM3 hand messed up those attempts on the new GE was nasty, that one is for sure NOT on my goal list. still shots (MM4, MM5, SE, GE)
Joefrey
Don't you think you're prepared for the MM3 cert ? Those workouts are simply awesome !!
FrankyBoy
Thanks Joefrey. I'm pretty sure I'd fail on the MM3 currently. Maybe my crush is sufficient but for sure not my setting ability. When I reach a certain crush level (ez #4s) then I'll focus on the set and go for the MM3. Today: Fat Bar work Usual warmup on the 60mm DB. 67kg Inch x 9 (PR),8,5 Nice!
