climber511
Grippers Some CC and NS work. Still couldn't do my hard RB210 righty NS even though its not too hard to CCS. Spread makes it really awkward to noset. Good news: I came very close in CCS my easier RB210 lefty. I remember having tremendous trouble to close it righty with a CCS. + some parallel reps out of the CCS with the M lefty and the RB210 righty (3 reps with both). BB Finger Curls 3@20x60kg Nothing max, just to finish the crush work off. Today I seriously addressed one of my races The standing long jump Got 8 1/2' (2.60m) with my first jump. Stupid as I was did I film that jump and filmed over it later. Muhuaaa. AND: I couldn't replicate that jump but did a couple of others around 2.50m (8.2') which I have on tape, I will post one when back at home. So Chris needs do get that too in his next session and its a draw. To be honest, there's no doubt he'll get that one easily. GO Chris! Handstand Walking I was thinking about a training method for handstand walking without actually walking in each session. Here's what I came up with: I'll stand on the stand and use two block on which I'll get up and down from with my hands whilst standing still on the wall. I also prekinked two Huge Shiny Bastard and will them try on friday to see if I can move them. Congrats Franky on the 8' 2" jump, you beat me to this one. I went out this morning to do them and knew during warmups that today was not the day. My hips were stiff and achy and I just called it a day for jumping. Perhaps tomorrow. Looks like we need something else to try as soon as I get to 8' tomorrow.
bencrush
Nice jumping Franky! I look forward to seeing what you can do with the prekinked Huge Shiny. Those are fun!
FrankyBoy
Yes, I expect some trouble Ben! Today a light day: Plate wrist Curls 10x10kg 5x15kg 1x20kg 0x20kg strange, I'm definately stronger than ever in this exercize, nevertheless I already did 3 reps with 20kg. BUT: That was done with a smaller plate. Aha! So I used a 15kg plate instead and attached a 2.5kg plate onto the rim, which made it nearly as heavy as the 20kg plate. (Torque wise). 3,4,
burkhardmacht
DLs today - light day: I trained with the Sumo-style to learn the technique: 10x1x60kg DLs for speed: 10x1x100kg The Sumo-style is in fact an interesting thing - lower back pumped up very good! bencrush
Looking forward to our new challenge race Franky. Fun stuff. I think it'll be pretty fair since I'm hitting some grippers and reverse bending again.

Never did sumo style for DLs but I sumo locked out the BB for my finger curls last session. Indeed it feels very different.

FrankyBoy
Well, that race with Ben already helped my DU bending! Bent some common nails like 60D, 7mm, 7.6mm (all cut to 6") then a G8: 1xG8 PR ~70° one hit. Still, afterwards I failed on: a 6" x 1/4" square, that thing bent over the flat side, got a 5mm (~3/16") kink. a 5 1/4" x 7.6mm common nail (30° maybe). Now, my wrists do hurt, cool! Hopefully I'm motivated enough to go to the gym this evening and try the Huge Shiny. I know that Ben will be far ahead of me in a couple of weeks when healed so I need to hurry up. They'll hammer your hips real nice too. I really suck at sumo, probably due to my school girl hip strength. I think I'll try them for a while too. Where are you at strength wise with sumo Burkhard? Maybe we'll have a little challenge or something?

I'm not sure who has the school girl hip strenght here.... I never tested it really but I think I won't get 120kg off the ground... Additional I have to be careful with my left adductor - I'm happy that I don't feel it anymore since 5 weeks now. Let me learn the technique first and after checking my max in a few weeks we could think about a challenge, OK?
FrankyBoy
Gym Session Pecs and Triceps Lots of sets today Trained with a guy, did 8 (max) sets of benching and incline benching Then I went for the prekinked Huge Shiny (30°). Muhuaaaa, well at least the pecs were nicely warmed up. I hit it hard, it moved to approx 50° then my traps cramped up. YES, I really should warmup the whole upper body next time and prolly a bit less work on the pecs. Afterwards I trained again with two other guys, same stuff as before once more. Uhhh, I'm expecting some soreness the next days.

FrankyBoy
Thanks guys. A Huge Shiny is a the stainless steel from FBBC dimensions : 6" x 5/16". My best on that stock is 6 1/4" DO.
FrankyBoy
Grippers CCS work for the left and NS & CCS work right closed my hard RB210 righy NS finally, damn wide spread. Failed again on my easy #3 by ~1mm NS. ARRGGHHH! Finger Curls 10@10x80kg Weight felt very light today so I did a couple of more sets

bencrush
Well here's the first DU workout from me since the challenge from Franky began a few days ago. I tweaked the hell out of my left forearm a week ago, reverse bending I think, and it's shot for a while. But it should get better with a bit of rest and some rehab work. Just bent too many days in a row is probably the root cause of it. I can barely close a #2.5 with my left right now and that's with a ton of pain in the extensor area. Franky knows this already so I'm not trying to make a boatload of excuses to cover me if I lose the race. Only pointing out that when it heals up I'll all of a sudden "appear" to be getting much stronger. And that's not the case. -1/4"X6" CRS -Easy 60D Nail -6" Grade 5-Diamond Notes: Hurt like absolute hell on this but I got it pretty quick. It was one of the hard Diamond ones. Thought I might be able to gut out a 6" Grade 8 but it hurt way too much to give it all I had. -6" Grade 8-U Notes: Only about a 5 degree kink. Couldn't push through the pain and I'm glad I didn't try. Something might actually be screwed up more than I thought. -1/4"X6" FBBC Square Notes: About a 5 degree kink again. Same as above. Ended the workout there for DU. Very disappointed because it seems like my body is not cooperating. I wasn't getting small injuries this often even when I was training with monster volume and frequently. That being said, it's still great to be in the race with you Franky. I'll give it my all and hope something doesn't go boom.
FrankyBoy
Be CAREFUL Ben, please!!! Sounds like a ligament strainment for me. Bring some blood flow in that area. FrankyBoy
Thanks David, I think those exercizes belong to each other somehow. 2" vbar (include 11kg for the bar) 5x31kg BH 5x51kg BH 3x71kg BH 2x0x91kg LH 1x91kg RH 1x101kg RH 0x106kg RH 0x91kg LH bad day ... DLs Lockouts I again used the lowest pin in the powerrack. This time I stood on two rubber mats + I wore shoes, what I usually don't do when DLing. All in all it was about an 18cm (7") elevation for the bar. 1x60kg 1x100kg 1x140kg 1x170kg 1x200kg 1x225kg 1x230kg 0x235kg DLs with straight legs 2x1x60kg 5x80kg Sumo DLs first time I tried those 1x60kg 1x80kg 1x90kg 1x110kg 1x140kg interesting ... didn't feel really hard but the movement is noticably different from the conventional style. I guess I'll train that one too in the future. Edited October 1, 2007 by FrankyBoy

FrankyBoy
BTW: Addressing my hand walking challenge I did my first careful workout this evening: Did 3 stands on the wall (very loose contact of the feet to the wall though), focussing on body position and breathing. 10s, 15s, 35s Left shoulder was a bit achy, probably from the mammuth bench session on friday. I want to go at least 5m in my first attempt.
