FrankyBoy
I'm looking for a method for lowering the weight for my lockout training but I'm already in the lowest position in the powerrack. Dig a hole in the garden and put sand into it when getting stronger - oldstyle! Ok, thats ONE option.
Martin_Arildsson
Just get some thin boards that you can stack on each other. Or if your plates or flat on one side, you can use them!
burkhardmacht
Or if your plates or flat on one side, you can use them! Very good with 50kg plates!
maidenfan
Thanks for the vids Morgan!I always love watching yours. That is a HUGE weight on the rack pull, how much was that? Also: Are those wooden blocks (or stones?) on which you stand in the snatch DL vid? I'm looking for a method for lowering the weight for my lockout training but I'm already in the lowest position in the powerrack. Using blocks under the feet would be a solution. Do you feel safe on the blocks? The blocks I was using Franky are two 2x6 boards screwed together (1.5" per board of height) - If you want more than that I'd suggest 2x12 (prob up to 6" or more and still stable). I have concrete cinder blocks which are about 7.5" (they come in various heights). Plates are a great idea - throw a rubber matt in between them to keep them from sliding. By far, the absolute best idea, especially for you crazy Germans, is to wear a pair of these while you deadlift. I hear they're the newest thing with the APF lifters Awesome DL Shoes
FrankyBoy
Oh yes, I think I'll definately get one of those Delmans. Today: Grippers Well, both my indexes are messed up from the DU 'bending' (Isos) yesterday. They are feeling nicely strained ... So no big setting today, ergo NS or CCS As a variance I sometimes did parallel reps from the CCS. FrankyBoy
Pinch Euro-Setup 5x32.5kg 3x52.5kg 1x62.5kg 1x72.5kg 1x82.5kg very easy 1x90kg was not my max but nowhere close to do a 2nd rep with it 1x85kg 1x82.5kg 2x75kg One day rest isn't enough for my thumbs, ouch! Also my forearms were sore like hell due to the NS and CCS work yesterday. 2-hand plate wrist curls using a 15kg plate with a 1.25kg plate attached to it using magnets. I placed the small plate on the side of the 15kg plate to get the maximum torque out of it. 4@5, pretty tough already TTK work to finish off: 4 sets 1-handed with 5 or 3.75 kgs 7-20 reps. FrankyBoy
Well, I was reading Chris post about his yearly comp and saw that high jump thingy. Remebering that I was called 'THE CANGAROO' back in school I thought: Lets give that ole guy a good ride and challenge him for a standing high jump over 1m yesterday. Today he told me its done already So of course I had to duplicate it today to at least get a draw. Chimp tries to fly Still shot: Airtime So we adapted the race to 44" (~112cm). That will be a tough one. Edited September 17, 2007 by FrankyBoy

climber511
So we adapted the race to 44" (~112cm). That will be a tough one. You better train this outside! Watching him do this in his gym was like waiting on a train wreck - plates, bars etc everywhere. One fall and I would have to call the emergency people long distance. I was hoping Franky's new found bodyweight would help me but he still has some good jumps left in his chubby little body Looks like some practice is needed for both of us now. FrankyBoy
Good session Burki, nice nice! I had a DL session also. I blame that climber guy and his stupid challenge for being totally off today. Deadlifts 4@9x165kg I expected an easy session and it was like hell, esp. the last set of course. Afterwards I went to gym with Heike EZ Curls 5x30kg 5x40kg 3x50kg 2x60kg 1x65kg PR 1x67.5kg PR 2@7x50kg + conc. curls, machine curls + 4 sets of each leg extensions and leg curls. + calfs work

FrankyBoy
Thanks Gary, the camera must morph the proportions. Standing Long Jump Challenge Goal is 8' (2.44m) Several warmup jumps 1-4' Pec hurt due to benching soreness, haha. Goal Jumping 1x5' 1x6' 0x7' too far to hit it on the point, was like 1" under, told me that it would be harder than expected. Max Attempts 7' 9.5" (2.38m) 7' 10.5" (2.40m) 7' 11 1/8" (2.415m) 8.02' (2.445m) Hmmm, to close to be acceptable for the race. Will repeat that with a better measurement and video soon. The session was a bit disappointing. I was sure to get 2.50m easily without much effort. It looks I'm a bit too heavy for this kind of challenges. But this makes these challenges even more interesting

Florian Kellersmann
Congrats to the Pinch PR! The jumps sounds good too. How do you measure them (distance you jumped or distance you over jumped)?
