Grip doesn't work like that. It's not like squat and deadlift where there are a lot of similarities to the lifts. Grip is much more specific than anything else. Squeezing a scale will not tell you anything at all when it comes to closing a gripper. It's completely diffrent types of stength/skill. It will tell you  a little bit how strong you fingers are in general but that's about it. Grippers are by far the worst way of testing someones grip strength if you're new to it because it's by far the most neurological thing in grip sport. It's like the olympic weigthlifting of grip. It's a super specific type of strength.

As the classic stainless saying goes: “good job, only hardest part left” 🤣🤣🤣 But really, small decreases in stainless length make for massive in increases in crush difficulty. In general, at 6” I think it is a harder bend to complete than a 6” Horrido 8.8, and even more so if you got an evil batch!!!

This has been driving me nuts for about a month now. I don’t understand how these 5/16x6” 303 stainless bars are so ridiculously hard but I have yet to be able to complete them in 1 go. I have to stop at the 2.5-3” range and go back to it 1 or 2 times to finish it off. It’s significantly harder than a Horrido 8.8 at 6” despite the rating at 7” being 120lbs under the unmodified 8.8. Idk if these are just some evil bars or if this is just a quirk with stainless but man it’s annoying

Squats and Grip (overshadowed by a bending care package unboxing and cert attempt!) Started the day off with grip and a pretty lousy blob session. Goal was to finally lift my buddy’s Legacy 115 but it was glued to the ground. All circumstantial evidence (have lifted 2 dif Fatmans, legacy 110 easily, and near miss on Holle 24) to the fact I should be able to lift that blob but it continues to evade me!!! So then I ditched the blobs and did some pinch implements, highlighted by a 38.2 pound alien skull lift🤣 Then I sucked at grippers which I should’ve seen coming since I always suck when I don’t do them first plus I’d crushed ten shortened shinys day before. Dumb programming, I shoulda skipped them or done silver bullet if my heart was set on grippers.    Then I worked through some squats with 100 & 176 lb sandbag at chest height and some single and double 70 lb kb in rack position.    Fast forward to late night and a special episode of Bending after Dark!!! A care package from my buddy @tkovach724 arrived today and I couldn’t resist having a special session for it! He sends the bars individually wrapped, with sick artwork!, and then you’re to tear them open and bend as soon as it’s been torn open. I did a fun unboxing of all the bars and then went for the Amarok that he sent me. Amarok is a BendSport Canada 1/4”x6” g5 and used to be the BSC women’s version of Nanook, but now dudes can cert every BSC bar. I have a pair of the original BSC red cordura wraps so I did the bend in a single red cordura wrap since it’s too tough for me to barehand and wouldn’t be too sporting to hunt it with Moose Killers!!! Waiting to hear back the final judgment  but it should be a good bend unless I forgot a cert step or something in my Bending After Dark excitement! If approved, I’ll be the first person in all 5 Bendsport Canada Halls of Fame: Ogopogo - Doubles Nanokk - Doubles Moose - BSC Green singkes Amarok - Single BSC Red Cordura Goose - Barehand
