Yes Mike will be there, he put other kind of lift, not just card tearing, they have other lift to give egual chance to anybody who participe to the contest. Again, enter 350+ pound Steve McGranahan-his hands are bear paws. He does a double blob pinch and walks with them. Dont play the hand size card here pal, it just doesnt fly. Mike-if this is you-please come to the Diesel Grip Contest and truly face the BEST in the world. Dont hide behind what is amounting to be a joke of a contest. Dont hide behind hand size, thickness, or poor english skills. Come here-and compete. We have fellas at the Diesel Comp. who are bending reds to 6" and under, closing #4s, hoisting the Inch like a toy, 2-hand pinching well over 200 pounds, the list goes on. Tearing cards? A joke. If and it's a big if MikeRoy wants the best in the world to come and take $10000-20000 (a nice lump of cash I am sure anyone will agree) then at least put in events that the best in the world can do and do do. Don't keep using the memory of Vic Boff like some emotional tool. Many of the guys here attended both this year and last year's AOBS dinner (when he was still alive) and are, like it is being inferred, with Mike Roy where keeping the orginal feeling of the Iron Game alive. If they are not why do they lift for no money at all?? Why? Cos they love to lift, bend and tear. There is no denying that Mike Roy is strong any more than there is to denying that some of the worlds best grip guys hang out here. However has Mikeroy been hiding in the woods? Living under as rock? Has no one told him that if he wants the best guys in the world to come and play - goddamit for no more than air fair if need be - then he needs to make the contest more even balanced. Let me paint another picture - we used to have a TV comedy show here called 'League of Gentlemen'. It is/was very bizarre. Every so often they wouild show a scene meant to be deep in the bowels of a hospital where a newly qualified doc would attempt to make friends with the old hand porters who appeared to have seen it all. They would be sat around a table playing cards for cash and, of course, the porters were ripping the Doc off blind by making up new card games as they went along - ie their game, their rules. Joey and Chandler played a similar game in an episode of Friends. Do you get it. Play a game everyone knows by rules everyone understands and if you win honestly - then you'd be the best. I think Mikeroy has a professional rep and living made from doing what he does and does well. To loose to a bunch of no names from nowhere would ruin him.
