8/8/11

Squats: up to 325 x 5. PR! Had 1 or 2 more in me.

Bench: up to 235 x 4. Missed by 1.

Weighted Chin Ups: 85 lbs x 3 x 3 sets. PR!

Then did some bicep work.

Overall, I felt very weak today. Could not get myself in the mood to lift and felt lazy. Though I still got a pretty good workout in (with 2 PRs) I think next week I'll have a de-load week.

Light Front Squats (up to 185 x 5 x 2 sets.)

Military Press: up to 145 x 4. This is getting to be frustrating. Time to reset and maybe buy some 1 pound plates.

Deadlifts: 250 x 5 DO grip, 300 x 5 DO grip, 350 x 5 DO grip, 400 x 5 with straps PR!!! Very easy! Had AT LEAST 2 more in me!

Overall, good day today. I'm really getting tired of my military presses though. Feels like I should be pressing at least 20 lbs more considering my strength in other lifts. I guess my shoulders have always been my weak point though.

Deadlifts felt surprisingly easy though. Every rep went up very fast and I did not struggle at all! Very happy with Squats and Deads these day!

Squats: up to 330 x 3

Bench: up to 240 x 3

Pendlay Rows: up to 205 x 5 (working on form)

Weighted Dips: 70 lbs x 5 x 3 sets.

Not bad, but felt kind of exhausted by the end. Next week is de-load.

Squats: up to 330 x 4!?

Bench: up to 215 x 5

Chin Ups: up to 87.5 x 3, 2!?

Then some bicep work.

Terrible workout today. Failed on squats and chin ups for the first time. However, I know what I need to do: sleep more and eat more!!! I'll get those squats next week and will switch up the chin up routine so that there is one heavy set of 3 instead of 3 x 3.

Light front squats

Military Press: up to 130 x 5. Easy.

Deadlifts: up to 3 singles at 395.

Wasn't feeling it today. Still feel mentally exhausted. Decided to deload on military presses and not push too hard on deadlifts. Hopefully, I will be fully ready to work hard next week.

Squats: up to 330 x 3. Felt better than on Monday

Bench: up to 220 x 3. Very easy

Rows: up to 205 x 5

Then did some dips, diamond push ups and behind neck presses.

Not a big fan of rows. Just doesn't feel natural and I might switch them for pull ups.

Bodyweight is going up. Now between 207 and 210 (depending on the scale.) This is the leanest I've ever been at this bodyweight.

Squats: up to 330 x 5!!! That's what I'm talking about!

Grippers: 3 sets of 5 with #2 for left and BBSM for right.

Bench: up to 220 x 5. Easy as pie.

WEIGHTED Pull Ups (first 2 sets) / Chin Ups (all other sets): BW x 5, 45 lbs x 5, 70 lbs x 3, 90 lbs x 3!!!, 45 lbs x 6, BW x 10. That 90 lbs set was pretty much a 300 lb chin up for a triple. Definitely a PR in terms of total weight lifted!!!

Finished off with some curls.

Front squats: up to 195 x 5. Easy squat day today, so nothing special here.

Military Press: up to 135 x 5.

Deadlifts (last set was with straps, all other are DO grip): 255 x 5, 310 x 5, 360 x 5, 410 x 5! PR!!!

Surprised with how easy deadlifts felt, especially after all that volume.

Squats: up to 340 x 3! Getting pretty hard, but had at least 1 or 2 more reps in me.

supersetted with...

Grippers: R - 3 x choked #3 (to about 1"). 2 x #2.5 overcrushes. L - 3 x #2.5 overcrushes. 2 x filed #2 overcrush.

Bench: up to 225 x 3. Nothing special.

Rows: up to 200 x 5. Working on form.

supersetted with...

Weighted Dips: 75 lbs x 5 x 3 sets.

Finished off with some easy shoulder and tricep work.

Squats: 340 x 5! PR!!! Easier than last week.

supersetted with...

Grippers: R - 4 sets of 5 reps with BBSM. L - 4 sets of 5 reps with #2. On left hand, some of those reps were more like singles because I had to reset between reps. On right hand, all of the reps were solid. These are done with about 1.5" sets.

Bench: 225 x 3? Rushed on the first 3 reps and gave up on the 4th. Just wasn't focused.

Weighted Pull Ups (first 2 sets) / Chin Ups (all other sets): BW x 5, 25 lbs x 5, 45 lbs x 5, 70 lbs x 3, 92.5 lbs x 3! PR!!!

Finished off with some bicep work.

Front Squats: up to 200 x 5 x 2 sets.

Military Press: up to 140 x 5.

Deadlifts (straps on the last sets, DO grip on all others): 265 x 5, 315 x 5, 370 x 5, 420 x 5! PR!!!

The 370 x 5 with DO grip was rather hard. It was the most weight I've done for 5 reps with that grip. Even had to re-chalk after the 3rd rep. Hopefully can get 380 x 5 next week.

Side note: the previous work out was actually on 9/7/11, instead of 9/8/11.

9/9/11

Squats: up to 350 x 3. Felt good.

Bench: up to 230 x 2?! Bench feels weak this week for some reason.

Finished off with some chin ups and dips.

Felt pretty tired. Next week, I will de-load with a bodybuilding type of workout.

Did 250 x 20 on squats. Second time ever doing these. This felt easy, or at least as easy as a 20 rep squat can feel, and I expect that I can do at least 20-30 pounds more.

Afterwards, did some shoulder work. Not too heavy.

Giving gripper a break this week.

SQUATS: up to 350 x 3?! Was not totally focused. Will get 350 for 5 next week!

supersetted with...

GRIPPERS:

R: (#3 choked to 1 and 1/8") x 4 solid overcrushes. #2.5 x 1.

L: #2.5 x 4 solid overcrushes. BBSM x 1.

BENCH: up to 225 x 5.

WEIGHTED PULL UPS (first 2 sets) / CHIN UPS (all other sets): BW x 5, 25 lbs x 5, 45 lbs x 5, 72.5 lbs x 3, 95 lbs x 2?!

CURLS: up to 110 x 5.

Good workout overall. I've been bulking, so I'm not surprised that I failed on chin ups. Grippers, bench, and curls felt great. The only weakness was the squat.

FRONT SQUATS: up to 205 x 5. Did only 1 set instead of 2, because inner thigh was very sore from Monday workout.

MILITARY PRESS: up to 145 x 5! PR!!!

DEADLIFTS: up to 425 x 1?! Gave up after 1 rep for some reason. 425 felt very heavy for some reason. However, I did get 375 x 5 DO grip pretty easily, which was a PR. Will get 425 x 5 next week.

Squats: up to 355 x 3. Easier than 350 x 3 on Monday.

Bench: up to 230 x 3. Hard.

Rows: up to 215 x 5. Pretty easy.

Weighted Dips: 80 lbs x 5 x 3 sets.

Also did some reps on grippers. Nothing special.

supersetted with...

GRIPPERS:

R: (BBE choked to a little less than parallel) x 3 solid overcrushes. #2.5 x 2.

L: #3 x 2 attempts (about 1/4" away). #2.5 x 3 solid overcrushes.

BENCH: up to 230 x 3. Was going for 5 reps. Need to change the workout for bench.

WEIGHTED CHIN UPS: up to 100 x 1! Failed at 110.

CURLS: up to 115 x 5. Finished off with 85 x 14.

FRONT SQUATS: up to 205 x 5 x 2 sets.

MILITARY PRESS: up to 145 x 5.

DEADLIFTS (all with DO grip except last set): 265 x 5, 320 x 5, 375 x 5, 425 x 5! PR!!!

Deadlifts felt nice and strong. I now have a 1005 lb Powerlifting Total. For 5 reps!!! Squat is 350 x 5, bench is 230 x 5, and deadlift is 425 x 5. Right now, I believe I have at least 1100 lb total for 1 rep. Goal is 1200 estimated total by the end of the year. I believe these gains will help with grip as well!

Felt weak today. Not enough sleep the last few days.

Squats: up to 355 x 3. Barely got this set.

Bench: worked up to 250 x 1, which is a PR. Failed at 265 and then at 260. I definitely feel that I have more in me on a good day.

Partial bench (on 11th setting - about 9" front chest): worked up to 285 for a single and failed at 305.

Trying something different for bench. Goal is 300 by the end of the year. Might be unrealistic, but I want to shoot high.
