I'm hoping that I haven't lost too much and will be able to hit the mm2 after this gripper cycle. I'll have to see where I'm at when I get to some harder sets. Cannon
I suspect that, in general, I work with too high a percentage of my max in 2HP. What is your overall plan for the weights you pick? For example, you appear to do a lot of work with 60-70% of your max..?
barbe705
The plan now is that on my heavy day I'll hit 5 doubles as close to my 2rep max as I can manage. not sure how much the bands add. I'm also having to figure out how to warm up more quickly. when I tested before andrews it took me way too long to get heavy. when I was doing rep work I was using the lighter weights because I suck at repping things. anything. when I'm using a rep scheme I still try to go as heavy as I can for the given reps/width/set up. looking at my old stuff I used to train 2hp up to a max whenever I trained it. then I would do more reps on accessories. that worked well for me and I am trending back toward that. I didn't get the results I wanted from all the sets of 5 in 2hp. having said that, I did feel that 5x5 with the block weights gave me really good progress and I'll be sticking with a version of those for a while. barbe705
4/2/12 warm up 148.5# gripper 3x1+ 3 sec hold 1hp 5x5 50#/55/55/55/55 block 5x5 40# ext lifts with block lifts. I'm hoping that the 1hp will bring up my pinch strength in the narrower range as well as it did for my blocks. that way if my technique fails me at least I'll have some strength to fall back on. haven't worked 1hp in a while. You! If it seems to be stronger, it probably is. Even if you're pulling similar weight but able to get in more workouts, that is stronger. PRs are sometimes all over the place if you look closely at what is happening.

Jedd Johnson
The wrist roller deadlift - is that like what I put up on TGA a couple months back? If so, that is bad-ass training tool. I love that drill.
barbe705
yes, same thing as chris has in the gripmas medley. I need to make another though. mine is pvc and it can be really hard to hold. I think metal would work a lot better. The wrist roller deadlift - is that like what I put up on TGA a couple months back? If so, that is bad-ass training tool. I love that drill. I think that the 60# might be a little bit harder than just 10# extra since all the extra weight has to go on my thumb side. 2.5" wrist roller dead 90/115/135/145 miss 135 5x1 first 135 felt so easy I thought for sure 145 would go. nothing. 140 didn't budge either. 6x10 standard plates 5x1 some ext lifts mixed in bent a couple of rila ties in IM wraps. I have to read up on how to wrap with these. I was basically getting nothing out of them. maybe even worse than nothing since things were slipping. Jedd Johnson
I'd say that looks like a pretty good run of good lifts whether you are rushing or not - even more impressive that you were.
