Brent,

Wondering if you think this year at GGC will be the year you take John Eaton down, or will he have the last laugh once again?

that doesn't figure into for me. I plan to do the best I can in each event. it's pretty simple. I'd like to move my pinch up, I can get at least an easy 3.5. axle seems to be about where it was 3 years ago so, I can only do what I can. the wrist roller should be good for me. I have historically done well on the endurance type events. the medley is usually very good for me as well. we'll see how it goes.

Do me a favor and post a number in every event before going for PRs. :tongue :tongue

I have my ggc write up in the ggc thread.

the wog leg 2 went poorly. think I was still beat up from ggc.

tonight I hit some 2hp. worked up to a miss at 200. tried some block weights after that but my thumb just had nothing left. I need to get my skin used to working volume again.

feats of strength friday.

wanted to star adding some of this kind of work in. I rarely do it and it seemed like it would be a fun addition and a good way to mix things up.

bending

60d

grade 5

12" spike

bastard bar

hexa bastard. don't think I even wobbled it.

grip and ripped 2 phone books. this is the first time I have ever done anything in this style. I haven't been able to get it to click. tried a third and nothing happened. need to keep working it.

I pinch with 2x45. so, I do 90# then I add a quarter to each side, 140#. from that point forward all weight goes on the back. when I can I switch out dimes for another 25. if you don't do that it gets really thick and there's too much leverage. given the disparity between our set ups and strengths I think you could go with 2 quarters per side before backloading. that would put you at 160 before the balance starts to become an issue. also, I have the 2x45 secured with pony clamps. so, the 25's are only about 1.5 inches away. those spinner collars you have push that stuff further out and will make the leverage greater. you'll have to play with it.

hits the thumb harder. one of the reasons that the 2hp rules state that the weight must be evenly loaded is to avoid front loading. front loading takes stress off the thumb. so, back loading hits the thumb harder and changes the stress so you don't adapt. basically it's like the westside use of specialty bars to address weaknesses but, for grip.

2hp

all lifts for 2 singles. 90, 140, 160, 180, 190, 200, 205. 205 for 2 singles I was very happy with.

75# thin pinch 3x1 farmers walks. 2x1 lifts.

45# block 3x1

blob 3x1 negatives.

45#+5# 3x1

gripmas 08 I was able to lift josh dales fatman and stand there with it. I don't think I've lifted a blob since. back then I mostly did 45# blocks with weight added. after getting bigger blocks I worked with those. I think that the 45+weight carries over better to blob lifting. so, I'm going back to only 45# block and the blob that andrew was kind enough to lone me for the next couple of months. the plan is to dominate it at gripmas.

2hp backloaded

90x3, 140x3, 150/160/165/170/175/180/185 1/2 way up. if I had jumped more I would have had 185

2" pinch block 55 3x1

blob negs 4x1

extensor lifts 4x1 5#

I really need to start having more block work while I'm fresh. the 2" block for 1hp was good though. maybe I'll skip 2hp for a weak and do 1hp and block work.
