Thanks! 2015-01-29 Grippers: Closed the 180 #3.5 with both hands and did a couple of negatives with a filed #4. 2HP, tried it and it hurt too much so I did lots of eccentric reps with my TTK instead. ------------------------------------------------------- Yay.... Martin_Arildsson
So I announced the LGC XX together with Arne, and I will also be competing. I haven't really trained grip at all, except for some intimate TLC with grippers a couple of times year. But since I signed up for the contest, I'd better start training the grip again, right? Later on today I will go and train with Arne, and I'll probably test all the events to get some kind of starting point. Except for the lack of grip training, I've still been training as usual. I tend to upload some stuff here https://www.instagram.com/martinitramartin/ from time to time.

Martin_Arildsson
20170228 Well... So i tried out where I'm at strength and techniquewise in the events for LGC XX. To make the test even better I haven't fully recovered from the mancold I had for the last week and a half. Squat: 20kg x 10/10/10 70 kg x 5/5 120 kg x 3 150 kg x 3 180 kg x 3 200 kg x 3 150 kg x 5 120 kg x 8/10 Bench: 20 kg x 20 50 kg x 10 70 kg x 10 90 kg x 10 100 kg x 22/20 Grippers (did the same for both hands): CoC T x 10/10/10 #1 x 10 #2 x 5 146 #3 x 1 156 PDA437 x 1 187 BBSE x 0 Felt quite ok, wasn't expecting to come as close on the BBSE as I did, I also botched up the setting with my left hand. 2HP: 22 kg x 3 52 kg x 1 82 kg x 1 102 kg x 1 107 kg x 1 This went really amazing! Guess I don't have to focus that much on the 2HP. Apollon's Axle: 65 kg x 5 105 kg x 3 145 kg x 1 165 kg x 0.9/0 145 kg x 3 125 kg x 8 Damn, I really gotta work on this one. The lovestick/LGC levering bar: 1 kg x 5 2,5 kg x 1 3 kg x 1 2 kg x 5/5/5 Humbling experience to say the least... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Allrighty then. Not the best preparation for this workout, but at least I know what I need to focus on.

jvance
Love the shoes bro! Just got the same pair, amazing for lifting/squats. They might not help your axle, they tilt you forward on deadlifts, probably not ideal for grip.

Dumbbell press: 10 kg x 20 20 kg x 10 32 kg x 10 40 kg x 10 50 kg x 6 44 kg x 8 40 kg x 10 I've had some pretty serious problems with my right shoulder since at least a year back, but it's finally getting better. It's the first time in over a year that I've felt confident enough to use the 50's. A couple of month ago i wasn't even able to press 10 kg dumbbells without a lot of pain. Supinated pulldowns: 50 kg x 10/10 80 kg x 10 110 kg x 10 120 kg x 10 110 kg x 10/10/10 Last set was with pronated grip Grippers: Closed a 175 #3.5 with both hands, had a couple of attempts at the 187 BBSE that sucked ass. Did a couple of sets with the GHP7 afterwards for reps. Apollon's Axle holds: 65 kg x 10s 105 kg x 15s 115 kg x 15s 125 kg x 15s 135 kg x 10s/10s 105 kg x 30s Abs: 2 sets. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All in all it felt like a good workout.
Martin_Arildsson
Quote Chinstrap and Adélie penguins generate considerable pressures to propel their faeces away from the edge of the nest. The pressures involved can be approximated if the following parameters are known: (1) distance the faecal material travels before it hits the ground, (2) density and viscosity of the material, and (3) shape, aperture, and height above the ground of the orificium venti. With all of these parameters measured, we calculated that fully grown penguins generate pressures of around 10 kPa (77 mm Hg) to expel watery material and 60 kPa (450 mm Hg) to expel material of higher viscosity similar to that of olive oil. The forces involved, lying well above those known for humans, are high, but do not lead to an energetically wasteful turbulent flow. Whether a bird chooses the direction into which it decides to expel its faeces, and what role the wind plays in this, remain unknown.
