i said i was gunna pick up my training at the end of xmas.

well.....scratch that idea, im starting TODAY!

i havent done strap holds in whiiiiiile, basically caus the routine i was doing was giving me results so why fix it if its working fine right? well the gais have stopped and its time to change things up a bit.

currently my routine is like this

day 1 close my hardest gripper.

day 2 close my hardest gripper......

basically i have no routine.

the routine before was

day 1 close my hardest gripper.

day 2 rep out the gripper under that

that worked fine but gains have stopped

heres my new routine.

day 1 strap holds

day 2 close my hardest gripper (for reps if possible)

ok today is day one strap holds

right handed #3 - 2.5lb for 10 seconds

- it started to slip at around 9 seconds but didnt fall.

right handed #3 - 3lb for 10 seconds

- this one i barely got for 10 seconds, it was tough

left handed #2 - 2.5lb for 10 seconds

very easy

left hand #2 - 5lb for 10 seconds

kinda easy.

i think this prog will bring me new gains...IT BETTER!!!!! :yikes

Your gains are going kick ass the grippers.

#3 plus 3 pounds

Try #3 plust 3 pouns plus=two steel washer.

10 seconds means youu are reponding well with the Strap holds.

THat is great!!.

When I do strap hold I go for the mAx of one second to five seconds but

10 seconds that amazing. Give your self the credit.

man i was at canadian tire yesterday....i should of picked up some washers.

ill see if i can get some tomorrow?

you say 6washers = 0.5 lbs?

The washers are one inch and 11/16.

But mybe the can weight them

yes 6=1/2 pound.

well last night was my first time doing strap holds in a while.

i think it burnt me out caus today was my reg close day.

i tried my #3 and failed!!! thats my first miss on over a month and a half.

well working out is all about trial and error, this tells me that im gunna have to taske a day off after doing strap holds. for now at least till i get used to strap holds.

so for now im gunna do a 2 day cycle

day 1 regular close with a hard gripper

day 2 strap holds.

day 3 rest

repeat

gunna be rough caus i have to take every 3rd day off.

after writing this log i tried my #3 again and got it, but it was a STRUGGLE!

man just about 3 weeks ago i got my #3 for 4 reps, i was going through a killer wave of prs every workout, little did i know that 4 reps was th end of the wave. i thought i was just gunna keep getting stronger forever, felt that way at least.

hey guys i have been doing strap holds alot now, its realy been working well...BUT incase some of you make the same mistake as me, heres what not to do.

i was doing strap holds every workout, did it six days in a row, then all of a sudden my next workout i couldnt get #2 even once!!!! i was pissed then i thought to myslef how i was obviously over training with the strap holds, i took one day off came back and got the #2 5 times....new pr too :D 

yea i forgot how i quickly I overtrained with strap holds last time.

#3 right hand - 1 rep, very close to 2 reps.

for this i did it a different way than i am used to, i usually do it sitting and i guess i used to brace it, this time i held it at chest level and did it.

220 left hand - 4 reps.

After gains of 4 pounds a month on the strap hold in two months that would be

8 pounds plus the weight of 3 pounds that you started for a total of 11 pounds

and the #3 rep would increase dymancily. And the 250 pounds will be forced

close and once you can force close the 250 pounds the #3 will close easly

mybe the imfamous no set close.

And in 3 months=12+3=15 pounds.

Focus and setting the micro goals of steel washer add up to big poundage and

mastering the #3.

When I start the strap using thin straps I used 2 1/2 pounds.

this the critial stage where the strenght is adjusting to max loading.

But when I got to 5 pounds my grip would spike up by another 2 pounds.

And reps start to incease at 5 pounds to 8 pounds and where the

Reps spike up to 8 reps to 12 reps or even more.

One rep program is between one second to 5 seconds in that range or the grip

get to shock in too much in hurry or too fast then the grip strenght can handle.

Strap is a very intense program.

Just focus on the one second to 5 seconds.

hmmmm i was doing 10 seconds but what you say makes sence.

the longer you hold it is for stamina maybe.

im gunna stick to 5 seconds like you say.

Congrats on the #3 doing 5 pounds=4 seconds.

Here inspiration and help for your grip.

Add 2 steel washer per for six days a week and change to 6 steel washer

to 1/2 weights and on the six day add one pounds

Monday=5 pounds+2 steel washer

t=5+4steel washer

w=5+1/2

t=5+1/2+2steel washer

f=5+1/2+4 steel washer

S=six pounds.

This will add up to an increase of 4 pounds each month plus orginal weight 5 pounds with a total of 9 pounds increas and in five months

the increase 20 pounds + 5 pounds=total of=25 pounds.

one rep program.

one second to five seconds to promote max recovery.

Here inspiration and help for your grip.

I notice My gripping is getting stronger at six pounds plus two steel

washer. The gripper feel weaker I start with 4 pounds half and tw0 steel

washer. Once you can do reps on 250 pounds then the #3 is histroy.

Do not be discourged because your grip power is adjusting to max loading.

But your grip strenght will spike up soon.

Max recovery wear mitts to bed and when take shower make sure to put hand

in warm water. evening recovery one rep with each hands. And soak hand

in warm water for at least 5 minutes.

you know my crush seems to have gotten weaker. last time i did strap holds i held the #3 and crushed it onto my strap, this time i could tell my crush was weaker so i force closed it onto the strap and held 5lb for 6 seconds. so my hold has improved but my crush has goten weaker. weird

left hand 220 - 5lb for 10 seconds

this was good, 5lb for 10 seconds but the thin is i think my pinky was touching the strap during the hold so that may have made teh hold a tad easier. so im not sure if i could have gotten this or not. next time ill make sure nothing is touching and ill find out if this was legit or not.

today was my 4th workout in 4 days and it still went well, so this tells me my hands are adapting to the new stress of strap holds. thats great.

strap holds

right hand #3 - 5lb - 7 seconds

this time i was able to crush the #3 onto the strap only using one hand. i dunno what happened last time!

left hand 220lb - 5lb 0 10 seconds

this time the only thing that touched the strap was the handles of my 220, so next workout its time to increase the weight now that i know it wasnt a fluke.

tried 7.5 lb after and got maybe .5 seconds. to big of a jump i guess

left hand 220 - 7.5lb for 5 seconds

overall a good ''workout''

with my right hand i closef the #3 then opened it up a bit to fit in the strap trhen shut it again. left hand felt strong too.

i will be doing strictly strap holds for a bit now and see how that goes.

you know i kind of surprised myself tonight, i meant to do strap holds with my #3 with 7.5lb, i forgot the night before i had it set up with 10lb and not 7.5lb, so when i finished my set i realized hey this is 10lb not 7.5lb. sweet.

Your grip strenght is shooting up 10 pounds cool.
