I always had trouble with my elbows during gripper workouts.

Since I'm taking them to the gym and using them after my gym warmup (usually at the rowing machine)

I never had any pain again.

Franky,

for the past few months I've been doin my grip work between my barbell work so your excellent advice won't help in this case :(

Gonna lay off the grippers for a couple weeks if I can and start fresh after that.

I haven't been following this log so it may be different, but usually when people refer to ladders in weight training it means doing sets of reps like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc. all the way up to what ever they want, and then they start at the beginning. Unlike pyramids, they do not work back down to 1 rep. Instead, ladders immediately go back to 1 rep right after the largest set is done like: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, then 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, then 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.

I've used these in my gripper training before too, didn't know anyone else used them. They really helped to toughen my hands.

thanks for that, i remember seeing the reps now. Ive done pyramids before, its a real killer for shaker up bicep training.

Yep that's how I usually do my ladders but my grip is so crappy lately the ladders look more like:

1,1,1,1,1, 1,1,1,1, etc. :yikes

Thanks for the kind words Egg, I wish I had the time to give more input on the rest of the board but my log is pretty much all I have time to put into lately.

Had some fun at the new gym today. Told Dan I'd bring in some grip stunt stuff so I had at it between sets on my squats to force myself to have some rest time and not rush through everything as per usual. Got him to even bend a timber tie with the hand over hand grip.

- Ripped a deck a couple times long ways and 1/4'd one after as well

-bent one of the 60d nails I got off of Creason at the first GGC (thanks again dawg!!!!)**I was really happy with this as i haven't bent anything harder then a timber tie in a couple years at that length.

-snapped a $store wrench

-1/2" bar 3 foot around my neck

-deadlifted a 35 and a 45 pinched together

Thursday after work:

grippers

T,#1,filed #2 x1

#2.5x1 attempt then assisted shut and held

SM x1 attempt then assisted shut and attempted to hold but popped open 2-3mm

#2.5x3 attempts with assist shut and held close

bending

Tried to do some underhand bending but I think my form is so shitty right now I doubt I could bend 3/16" stock laugh.gif

Did bend a few carriage bolts 5/16" shaft all thread so they are much easier then 5/16" stock but harder then 1/4" stock overhand. Gonna have to get some serious practice in before August if I want to hit a PR at a GGC contest.

phone book

Finally ripped one nicely with zero technique, just grabbed it and pulled with one hand while trying to hold the other hand still. Not a huge amount of pages but thicker then any of the books I have ripped in passing.

Friday afterwork totally exhausted didn't get any sleep last night as in zero hours ....

Did a bit of experimentin' with deloaded pinching after work:

2 hand using 35's for gripping surface (rounder edges compared to any of my 45's hoping that'll mimic the euro more) Strongest band I have + a woody band @210lbs x10 singles bands at top pin in rack

1 hand 3x25's as grip surface woody bands top pin in rack x5 singles

at one pin down x3 singles

gripwork:

Just for fun gonna use the ed coan calculator to do a peaking cycle on the ISG, already did the first workout on Tuesday but forgot to log it, identical to this session. I am so weak the tension is pretty light at the beginning of it. also using my weaker ISG, the springs on my original one from PDA are a hellof alot stronger then this one.

5,3 (83)x10

8,2(127)x10

1,10(161)x10, x10

right now doing a micro overcrush at the end of each rep
