amaury
Very Light training with the ISG until, probably, Saturday. I bent a 150*6mm and a 140*6mm stretched iron bars yesterday evening. I'll soon be ready to do "heavy" (for me ) bending again. On the other hand my crushing grip is fried... #2 just closed R #2 pathetic attempt L 15 reps R & L with the ISG @ notches 5-1 (yes you've read correctly, that's what i call a very light day ) BTW I NEVER warm up with my COC's cuz i lent my #1 to my brother. Therefore I don't include warm ups in this LOG. But i don't need to warm up anymore to close my #2 !
the swiss
no warmup! ouch!! do you think you could send me your #3 attempt? congrats on the #2 progress, looks like you're very focused on grippers and bending at the moment! how's your thick bar lifting? train hard david
amaury
yes David, no PB with the #3 attempt: i'll also send you another one later cuz the first one is not accurate (i'm a bit closer than that actually ). Check your mail !
amaury
no warmup! ouch!! Do you think i take risks ??
the swiss
not really, no, its just that when I do that, I almost always get a loud POP in my knuckles, and am not too confident that they appreciate it! another thing about your #3: it still needs to get seasonned, and I believe this really makes a difference. Jonathan McMillan
Amaury, From my brief experimentation with strap holds -I've quickly become a convert. Haven't seen any listed in your training. If you haven't tried them do so!! Jon@han
amaury
Thanks Jonathan, it's a good idea and will put some variety in my training ! I just ordered some straps from Ironmind... Just kidding: i made my own strap with an old judo belt I think it'll do the trick!
Jonathan McMillan
Gi, why didin't I think of that? I'm using an Old dog collar but looking at Animalcage's setup I think a ruler would be easier to setup with. Jon@han
amaury
Yesterday's training: early in the morning: #2 closed (Right) w/ difficulty, no warm up #2 one attempt (Left), a few mms away Evening : #2 closed (Right) easily: loud "click" ! in fact that's the first time i make such noise with the #2 which is strange since what happened in the morning made me think my hands needed some rest. #2 one attempt (Left), a few mms away Called it a day
amaury
I'm about to begin the KTA program. Therefore i'll just post my progress here, not my training
Jonathan McMillan
Amaury, From the results some people are getting from KTA, you'll be posting a shut #3 on your next post !!! Jon@han
amaury
Thanks Jonathan !! I'll close it within 6 weeks indeed. Yes, that's the state of mind i'm in Amaury.
amaury
I was 13-15mm away ysterday night on my #3 (i was around 2cm away a few days ago). I expect to be less than 10mm away on a friend's "weak" #3. My sweep is much better ! Can't say much about my close for the moment though. bender
And you said your gripper strength wasn't very good. First the Blue, then the #3. You will do it, just keep on grip'n!
amaury
Thanks guys ! Will do !!
amaury
Still following KTA ! It is working: I finally closed the #2 with my left hand ! Didn't make visible progress on the #3 for the moment but the #2 is getting easier and easier with my right hand. Jonas: Try the KTA program ! Griparn
Great news! Yes, the KTA program seems to have helped lots of people. But I like my routine and I think I will close #3 someday. It's just about crushing 110 % on every attempt, then you know you couldnt have done it better...
amaury
Time for a little update: - 4mms on the #3 (New PR) I keep on bending nails from time to time. My 60Ds are not a challenge anymore (they don't feel harder than felt the white nail when i started bending and could only bend the green ) so i'll try to cut them to 5.5" or 5.25" (?). Griparn
Nice job Amaury! Keep on fighting!
amaury
Thanks Jonas ! BTW i made it ! My wrists were fried but i tried the 60D cut to 5,5" and i bent it in around 20seconds. Fresh i'm sure that i would have bent it in less than 10secs. Next time i'll try to bend it cut to 5" and if it works well then i'll give the red a (desperate) go in a few weeks to see if i can put a kink in it. I would be utterly satisfied with just a kink
