I was extremely happy with the 305 rack pull. That is the most weight I have ever held in my hands. I thought I ripped a calleous on the first one though :/. I pushed through and got it done. The Bradford press was fun and left my shoulders fried. I did not do push press today because it is too close to my Upper ME day. Abs tonight.

1x4 chins, way to fatigued from everything else

Abs and a little bicep work tonight. I have noticed that my deadlift style has changed back to a lot of erectors and less hams. I will probably do 4x5 squats with 85% on Friday or Saturday. Great semi-RAW lifting today.

Trainer closes as a warm-up with both hands

#1 choker closes from parallel set with right (closing it without the choker is still a max attempt)

Trainer parallel set closes with left (same reason as right)

Various 25lb block weight feats-

Clean+Presses

Lift by the face with left hand PR!

I got out to Lowe's and bought an 8lb sledge with a 36" (I think) handle. It turns out that my other sledge was closer to 6lbs :(. I also purchased some 3/16 HRS to work on form so I can destroy the timber ties.

Bending 3/16 HRS-

6"-Bent easily

5"-Still easy

4.5"-Medium difficulty bend, the length of the steel became a factor

Sledge Levering-

2x5

to the front

pronation

supination

1x3 (decided to try low reps)

weaver stick

No problems with the initial kink at all today. It could just be that my wrists are finally getting stronger.

I got a 27.5lb block weight PR not long ago (put a 2.5 on my 25lb block)! I dont think that 30lbs is that far off.

Bending-

4.25" 3/16 HRS. PR for length

Pre kinked timber tie

I felt like bending today but I kept the volume down to a minimum because I need my grip for deadlifts tomorrow.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just did some sledge levering tonight after my deadlift workout. The highlight of the deadlifting was 250x2 with no belt (fairly easy)!

Bent about 5 pieces today, mostly 4.5" 3/16 HRS. I did these sitting down as I heard that it helps with the initial kink from SHRUG. I also did a bit of curling as I feel it has helped my grip.

Nice Bending

I think it's time to try some 3/16 square or give the 40d nails a try

keep up the strong bending

Just did some 25lb block weight work today. I didn't feel in the mood to put the 2.5's on to make it a 30 and deadlift it......I had fun though, clean+press and hold for time made up most of today's workout.

I deadlifted a 30lb blockweight with my right yesterday. The left hand only managed to break it off the ground. Then I did some clean+presses and I did 25lb block weight deadlifts with 3 and 4 fingers.

Are you doing plenty of negatives and holds? You should be owning that 31 man, c'mon, step it up!

Earlier today I did some squats and rack pulls. The highlights of which were a 340 rack pull from the 1st pin and 405 from the 2nd pin. I ripped a callus in the proccess of 405 so I did some reduced volume gripper work.

Right:

#1 attemptsx2. way too tired from the morning session

BB Curl-

a few sets working up to 77.5lbsx1 fairly strict

Unseenbeat-Thanks :)

At this point I am thinking about taking a month to concentrate on sledge levering to strengthen my initial kink when I bend. I feel that I have put very little emphasis on improving this weakness and it now needs to be addressed. In addition, I am thinking about the KTA program so I can work up to closing the #2. I will probably do block weight work once a week.

I did lots of chin-ups using Pavel's ladder and I did some sledge levering today. I will do block weight work and grippers on Monday.
