The Rack Pull Holds were done mainly as a warm up at the gym before my speed pulls on the bands. After my workout at the gym, I then did the BLOB50 Negatives and then some crunches on the dyna disc before going to work.

The way I do negatives w/ the Blob50 is by carrying the Blob50 with both hands, then letting go with the other hand and hold as long as I can. To me, the Blob50 is harder than my 60lb Hex, because the 60lb Hex is a little narrower, plus the slope on the Blob50 makes it harder.

At the Fit Expo, I went through the GNC Grip Gauntlet. I got the IM#2 and the 187lbs RT. Also, I did a negative with York Blob and held it for 15 seconds. I also volunteered at the Fit Expo on both Friday and Saturday. I carried a bunch of strongman equipment on both days, but both days on volunteering and the GNC Grip Gauntlet didn't affect my grip on my deadlifts when I competed on Sunday. I wonder how much better that I could've done at the Powerlifting meet, if I didn't volunteer those days. I don't regret volunteering, because I had a great time and I learn a lot from my experiences on those days.

Yesterday's Active Recovery Workout

I helped my friend move his stuff from his old apt. to his new apt. Also, I went to Dave and Buster's. It's a Chucky Cheese type of place for adults. I used a 6lb and an 8lb Sledge Hammer on a carnival game for 6 games and I also used them to lever on both one hand at a time and both hands at a time. I had both a tough and fun day and was energetic the whole time. I feel good today and I'm ready to workout. There was a lot of functional strength and functional hand strength stuff done that day.

Man hands are out of shape for pinching. I definitely need to work them out harder now, since the Grip Decathlon will take a lot of conditioning.

What exactly is the grip decathalon? Great job with the Blob and the 60lb hex! How long has it taken you to get to this point in grip strength?

The grip decathalon is a contest that I'll be entering in April.

It has taken me over a year to get to this point in grip strength. Just a F.Y.I, I am about 285lbs and I have 8.75" hands, so my grip strength level is not impressive.
