supermagnamon Posted January 9, 2006 Author Share Posted January 9, 2006 (edited) 1st Workout of the Day Warm up- 2 minutes for each hand - Powerball Warm up- 20 reps for 2 sets on each hand- Snow ball crushes 10 sets- 1 rep- IM#3 Negatives 5 sets- 1 rep- 5.5" 60D Bends Comments: I'm working from 7PM- 7AM tonight. I stopped after the nail bending, because it started to get busy. I will finish up the rest later. The next session, I should do a couple of sets of 5.23" 60D Bends. After that, I will try for a 6" Grade 5 again on Thursday. I finally found the 60Ds that I like from Home Depot. 50lbs for $30. Not too shabby at all. Mainly, grippers, nail bending and dynamic thumb work on the pony clamp with rubber bands. After the workout, will be a quick shower and nap time. I'll post the workout as soon as I wake up. I couldn't wait to log this, since I have never done 5 7" Grade 5 Bends in one session, which is a PR for me. The kink was hard, but the sweep and the crush was easy. Once I kinked it, it was acedemic from there, that it was going down. 4 of the 5 bends were uneven when I finished, so I feel confident enough to get the 6" Grade 5 on Saturday. Thanks to Handgripperman for the pep chat earlier. I was definitely motivated by that and my workout earlier at the gym. I want to cert on the Red so bad, that I can taste it, but first things first, the 6" Grade 5, then the 6" Grade 8, and then finally the Red. Right after my boss left, I started bending and I was whooo!!! After my first set, I hollered at my boy and he said Grade 8. So that's next on Sun. I will finish my grip routine later, I couldn't do the 3rd set, since I am sore from last night's workout. Thanks for everyone's support. Short term goal, until next week. Next Saturday, Red Nail. I should of not tried out these bolts today. I didn't feel "fresh", but I was hungry and determine. I was able to kink the 5.5" Grade 5, but the 6" Grade 8 had nothing on it. I had to stop the workout, because I didn't want to injury myself and I can always wait another day. I guess I was possessed the other day, when I got the 6" Grade 5 for 2 sets. I was unable to do a second workout on Friday night. I took yesterday off. I will no longer do grippers for a while until June, since I will concentrate on nail bending and that I need to concentrate on my support grip and my wrist strength so I can do better and focus more on my powerlifting workouts. I really want to bend, but I won't take any chances. Tomorrow, I'll just work on my pinch, work on my thumbs, rehab on the formulator and work on my extensors. Sucks. I held on more than 3 seconds for each hand on all lifts. I think once I can hold for 5 seconds with both of my 1.25lb platemates, then I should be able to carry it with ease in a couple of weeks.
