Thanks man! It took me a long time to achieve.
This thread was started 2 years ago, and at that point I could already knock out 5 reps using one arm and the tip of a finger as assistance.

Glad to finally cross this off my list.

Thanks man! It took me a long time to achieve.
This thread was started 2 years ago, and at that point I could already knock out 5 reps using one arm and the tip of a finger as assistance.

Glad to finally cross this off my list.

 

Agreed this one is taking a lot longer than I originally planned. It may elude me this year as well, but my weighted chins are moving on up!

Good luck man, haven't talked in a while!

Yesterday I finally did both arms, back to back.
I wonder if it was my tendons progressing so slowly?

Casually training it. I think I was only weak in one position, and since I started deadlifting heavy every week I've gotten stronger in that position.

I am working to one day get this feat as well... At this point - if I start at a 45% arm angle (slightly bent elbows).. I can pull myself up. Gonna be working on slowly getting it from a straighter arm till strict.

That's cool to see everyone's strongest ROM. I can make a slight bend in my arm from the hanging position... it's a very short movement, but you know what guys? If it bleeds then we can kill it!

One arm pull-up would be kick ass. Never gonna happen for me but have done reps when I grab my wrist with the other hand. I did 10 back when I was not as heavy. That's way easier though.

I've used this movement as a gateway into bodyweight/gymnastics movements.
I'm working on front and back levers, planche, manna, and cross.

But first, I'm getting my handstand this coming month.

My goal used to be to do this from a full hang (2s at least) before pulling, and then chin fully over bar without arching the neck. I was able to do partial oacs and oacs from a small hang (full ROM but 0s hang) a long time (9-12 months) before I got it from the longer hang. I guess the stretch reflex effect seems to give about 10kg boost. Anyway, I managed it a while back, but only just recently got my camera working:

 

 

BW was ~75kg here
